You’ll know London-born Jamie Campbell Bower as a hard-to-love, but easy-to-look-at, villain in two of the fantasy film world’s biggest franchises. That’s a vampiric Volutri Caius in Twilight and Gellert Grindelwald, felonious wizarding rival of Album Dumbledore, in Harry Potter. Or perhaps you’re a punk rock fan and came across his new band, Counterfeit, of in which Bower is a guitarist and lead vocalist. In 2017, the British group released its debut album, Together We Are Stronger, and have already completed a string of homeland tour dates in support. Those two passions collided in his recent acting work on the set of the TNT series Will, which reimagines a young William Shakespeare in London’s modern punk-rock theater scene.

When not on stage or in front of a camera, Bower can be spotted sitting front row, among the VIPs, at Fendi menswear shows — though one can’t help but think he’d look even more natural walking down the runway. With his preternatural good looks, A-List resume, yet nonconformist edge, his new role as an ambassador for the Italian fashion house comes seems to be a perfect aesthetic synergy. Fendi menswear designer Silvia Venturini Fendi has consistently updated businesswear with youthful and relaxed reinterpretations, borrowing streetwear codes for boardroom attire.

"Like anything one chooses to wear, the item should reflect who you are as an individual. Eyewear is an opportunity to show one's creative flair — or hide a multitude of sins."

In 2018, Bower will champion Fendi’s men’s eyewear collections for both Spring and Fall. About the appointment, he says, “Like anything one chooses to wear, the item should reflect who you are as an individual. Eyewear is an opportunity to show one’s creative flair — or hide a multitude of sins.” Though unspecific about which vices he might be hidinge, the actor-cum-singer admits, “I run hot mentally, and rock n’ roll allows me to vent both emotionally and physically. It's pure, raw, honest, and doesn't give in.” Sounds a lot like Fendi.

Looking ahead, Bower is rumored to return to the magical world of wizards in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, likely reprising his role as younger version of the title character. The film would also be a return to appearing alongside Johnny Depp. (Tthe two appeared together in the 2007 horror musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.) Given the rampant speculation of about his role reprisal, fans will certainly be pleased.

No doubt, all eyes (and Fendi eyewear, too) will be on Bower this year.
