The Italian luxury fashion brand tapped the Icelandic singer-songwriter for an audio-visual immersive experience.

When Bj&ouml;rk was seen dancing to her DJ set at the Venice Biennale on social media, fans and viewers alike became mesmerized by her outfit choices. Rocking a red fiberglass dress from the Bottega Veneta Fall/Winter 2026 collection by creative director Louise Trotter and a red mohair hat from designer Myah Hasbany, the artist reinstated herself not just as a mystical being, but a fashion icon.
Now, the two creative forces have come together to present Bj&ouml;rk: Echolalia. The exhibition will highlight the avant-garde artist's work through three large-scale audio and visual installations, a recently commissioned film, and a sound installation crafted from material that is connected to her future music releases.
The exhibit opened on May 30 at the National Museum of Iceland in Reykjavik and will run until September 20, 2026. For its premiere, Bj&ouml;rk sported multiple looks designed by Trotter. Bottega Veneta joined the endeavor as patron of the film&nbsp;Nerve Bloom, which will be a part of the exhibition.
From painter Natalia Kleszczewska's and computer graphics director Natalie Liu's visuals to the creative direction led by Bj&ouml;rk herself, the film is sure to transform the way we think about art. The brand's mission of supporting fashion, moving image, and experimental performance arts' ongoing dialogue was crucial in backing the film.
Ancestress and Sorrowful Soil are not just the exhibition's key works, but are both vital to Bj&ouml;rk's 2022 album Fossora and have been transformed into a theatrical lens in a museum setting. Ancestress takes place in an Icelandic valley that relies on personal reflection and movement, while Sorrowful Soil relies on a nine-part sound installation transmitting voices from the Hamrahl&iacute;&eth; Choir directed by &THORN;orger&eth;ur Ing&oacute;lfsd&oacute;ttir. For a final touch, a one-of-a-kind installation that draws on the artist's upcoming works is realized with the help of film, sound, and immersive technology.
Bj&ouml;rk: Echolalia establishes a crucial cultural collaboration between the brand and the artist's decades-long practice of art. With their support, Bottega Veneta continues to add to the development of unique artistic practices and traditional craftsmanship on an international scale.
