Inspired by the fearless Australian women of the 1920s, Nicky Zimmermann&rsquo;s latest collection balances utility and romance.&nbsp;

For Fall/Winter 2026, Zimmermann looks to the fearless women of 1920s Australia&mdash;those who challenged expectations and embraced adventure during a time of social change. Creative director Nicky Zimmermann was inspired by stories from her own grandmother, who worked as a lifesaver at Coogee Beach as a teenager, as well as pioneering figures like author Miles Franklin and early road-trippers Kathleen Howell and Jean Robertson.
That spirit of independence shapes the collection, which unfolds in two parts. The first leans into utility and uniform dressing, with drill jumpsuits, structured denim jackets, and cricket-inspired tailoring in cream wool suiting. Masculine references are softened with feminine silhouettes, including a tonal chartreuse drill set and scarf details woven throughout the looks.
The second half introduces softer, lingerie-inspired pieces. Silk shirts with exaggerated sleeves, fluid skirts made from printed men&rsquo;s scarves, and lace-trimmed tailoring create a balance between structure and sensuality.
Movement is key throughout the collection. A wrap dress layered over wide-leg denim, leather bombers paired with ruffled silk skirts, and flared jeans tied with scarves give the pieces a sense of ease and motion.
Accessories nod to the glamour of the 1920s with embroidered velvet mules, patchwork python versions of the Cloud 91 bag, and jewelry featuring exotic bird motifs&mdash;finishing touches that celebrate the bold women who inspired the collection.
