The luxury watchmaker's newest limited-edition Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon merges avant-garde design, fashion influence, and the creative vision behind Ambush.&nbsp;

Swiss watchmaking and fashion continue to move closer together&mdash;and the latest collaboration proving that point comes from Audemars Piguet. The haute horlogerie house has unveiled a new Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon created alongside Yoon Ahn and Verbal, the creative duo behind Ambush, bringing together watchmaking precision and a distinctly fashion-forward point of view.
Limited to just 150 pieces worldwide, the new 38.5 mm titanium design reimagines the Royal Oak Concept through a stripped-back, expressive lens. While the silhouette remains rooted in the collection's futuristic identity, the duo's influence arrives through a striking contrast of minimalism and bold visual detail. A shimmering black aventurine dial meets a vivid red flying tourbillon at six o'clock.&nbsp;
For Yoon and Verbal, whose work has long existed at the intersection of music, fashion, and culture, the collaboration extends beyond aesthetics. Audemars Piguet framed the project around collective creativity and "purpose over excess," with the watch intended as a reflection of both individual expression and shared artistic language.

The details reinforce that philosophy. Sandblasted titanium surfaces are paired with satin-brushed and polished finishes, while the partially openworked architecture offers a closer look into the mechanics beneath. The red anodized tourbillon cage&mdash;a first for the brand&mdash;acts as both a technical feat and symbolic centerpiece. Meanwhile, interchangeable black and red rubber straps allow the piece to shift moods, moving between subtle and statement-making.
The movement itself is powered by Calibre 2982, which places much of its inner workings on display. Visible gears and hand-finished elements create a sense of motion throughout, emphasizing the concept collection's long-standing mission: pushing traditional watchmaking into more experimental territory.
That spirit has defined Royal Oak Concept since its 2002 debut, originally launched to celebrate the Royal Oak's 30th anniversary with an almost concept-car mentality. Over the years, the line has evolved into Audemars Piguet's testing ground for innovation, material experimentation, and creative partnerships.
