The new New York exhibition celebrates 250 years of artistic exchange between France and the United States through fashion, craftsmanship, design, and luxury history.

Hidden Treasures is proving that luxury is about far more than fashion&mdash;it&rsquo;s about history, craftsmanship, and the cultural dialogue that shapes both. Running from May 26 through May 31 at The Shed in New York City, Hidden Treasures, 250 Years of Franco-American Luxury Stories traces centuries of artistic exchange between France and the United States through an immersive exhibition celebrating the enduring influence of French savoir-faire on American culture.
Presented by Comit&eacute; Colbert in partnership with Villa Albertine, Lizzie and Jonathan Tisch, JCDecaux, and the ISG Luxury Program, the exhibition brings together 65 French luxury Maisons and cultural institutions for a rare exploration of craftsmanship across fashion, jewelry, design, gastronomy, music, and the decorative arts. More than a retrospective, Hidden Treasures examines how French creativity evolved alongside American identity, from the earliest diplomatic exchanges during the War of Independence to today&rsquo;s contemporary luxury landscape.

Across five thematic chapters, the exhibition explores the ways ideas, aesthetics, and techniques traveled across the Atlantic, shaping the worlds of fashion, art, and luxury as we know them today. Designed in collaboration with Museum Studio, the concept transforms each participating Maison&rsquo;s contribution into a symbolic &ldquo;hidden treasure,&rdquo; housed inside shipping crates that reference the physical and cultural journey between France and the United States.
From archival pieces to contemporary creations, the exhibition highlights the precision, artistry, and innovation synonymous with Comit&eacute; Colbert&rsquo;s mission. Objects on display span multiple disciplines, offering a comprehensive portrait of how craftsmanship can simultaneously preserve tradition while pushing creative evolution forward.
&ldquo;Hidden Treasures reveals the invisible threads that connect France and the United States through craftsmanship, creativity, and cultural exchange,&rdquo; said Comit&eacute; Colbert President &amp; CEO B&eacute;n&eacute;dicte &Eacute;pinay in a statement. &ldquo;It is both a tribute to heritage and a reflection on its future.&rdquo;

The opening celebration brought together notable figures from the worlds of fashion, luxury, art, and media at Tisch Skylights at The Shed. Guests were welcomed with glasses of Veuve Clicquot champagne before gathering for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring remarks from B&eacute;n&eacute;dicte &Eacute;pinay, Laurent Boillot, incoming Comit&eacute; Colbert President and Boucheron CEO H&eacute;l&egrave;ne Poulit-Duquesne, Lizzie and Jonathan Tisch, French Ambassador Laurent Bili, and Chanel USA President Stephane Blanchard.
Following the ceremony, attendees&mdash;including Francis Kurkdjian, Samira Nasr, Stefano Tonchi, Nick Wooster, Olympia Gayot, Pierre-Yves Roussel, Alexis Mourot, and many more&mdash;were invited to explore the exhibition during a celebratory cocktail hour, offering an intimate first look at one of the season&rsquo;s most ambitious luxury showcases.
