From dresses to jackets, the expanded Fall/Winter 2026 collection dealt in flowy fabrics and soft silhouettes.

For its latest show, Herm&egrave;s landed in Los Angeles. Up on a pale yellow set in the sprawling hills above the Hotel Bel Air, the maison unveiled the second chapter of its Fall/Winter 2026 women's collection.
For this latest collection, artistic director Nad&egrave;ge Vanh&eacute;e explored the intersection between craftsmanship, movement, and femininity. Marking a divergence from past collections, Fall/Winter 2026 Chapter Two centered around what the house introduced as the flou&mdash;or as it&rsquo;s known in the world of French couture, the soft, fluid dress. For Vanh&eacute;e, this emphasis builds on some of the maison&rsquo;s most enduring symbols&mdash;namely, the silk scarf.&nbsp;
Though leather is often considered the core of Herm&egrave;s' visual identity, Vanh&eacute;e sought to place something slightly less rigid at the center of her collection, and the very first look set the tone. Semi-sheer flowing pants with side slits signalled a softer side to the Herm&eacute;s woman that admirers of Vanh&eacute;e have rarely been privy to in previous collections.&nbsp;
Across the collection, dance emerged as a recurring motif. Inspired by traditional ballet attire, a parade of jewel-toned smooth satin dresses&mdash;seen on Karen Elson in a vibrant red hue&mdash;appeared on the runway with narrowly cut bodices featuring gathered bustiers and piped seams evocative of the classic construction of the pointe shoe, one of the art form&rsquo;s most recognizable silhouettes. The references to dancewear continued throughout the collection with closely-fitted jumpsuits that gave way to flared, pleated pant legs&mdash;and adorned with glittering embroidery&mdash;and cache-c&oelig;ur knit wraps, &agrave; la classic ballet rehearsal attire, that delicately transitioned into dresses.&nbsp;
Despite the emphasis on soft, sensual silks, the collection didn't forget its legacy of masterful leather savoir-faire. Illustrating Vanh&eacute;e&rsquo;s penchant for luxurious, often edgier pieces was a series of looks grounded in leather. Here, leather outerwear arrived in many forms: a sleek, inky-black trench coat cinched at the waist by a grosgrain ribbon, a sculptural parka accented by fur trim, and a cropped jacket crafted from smooth, glossy full-grain leather. Of the layered looks, perhaps the most striking was a collarless black jacket with a softly curved waist seam, delicately shaping the torso. Similarly, a leather dress tailored like a corset&mdash;and slit down the center from upper thigh to knee&mdash;illustrated the collection&rsquo;s interest in exploring the feminine form across a variety of materials and contexts.&nbsp;Meanwhile, slim-silhouetted leather pants and micro-shorts were paired with soft-shouldered biker jackets (complete with metallic stud detailing and accents inspired by the patterns of Herm&egrave;s&rsquo; iconic scarves), which struck a bold, almost rebellious chord among the sea of softer styles.&nbsp;
As per usual, Herm&egrave;s' icons&mdash;leather accessories&mdash;were front and center in the show. Kelly bags and riding boots alike grounded the collection, adding a classic, refined touch to the array of flowy, draped, and sheer garments.&nbsp;
Echoing the golden hour ambience that unfolded across the hills of Bel Air during the presentation, the pieces within the expanded Fall/Winter 2026 collection drew on a very particular color palette made up of butter yellow, vibrant orange, cerulean, and black.&nbsp;
The front row of the Herm&egrave;s show was the place to be this week in Los Angeles&mdash;and the presentation was star-studded, to be sure. Attendees included Miley Cyrus, Chloe Fineman, Kerry Washington, Keke Palmer, Precious Okoyomon, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Natasha Lyonne, among others.&nbsp;
