From teen drama breakout stars to a new wave of film, TV, and music projects, the Riverdale cast is redefining their careers.

When Riverdale wrapped its seven-season run in August 2023, it marked the end of one of television’s most chaotic (and beloved) teen dramas. Over the years, the series transformed its cast into global stars, with actors like Lili Reinhart, KJ Apa, and Cole Sprouse becoming household names.
Now, just a few years later, the core cast has fully stepped into their post-Riverdale careers, taking on prestige projects, blockbuster franchises, and even music ventures. From buzzy TV returns to major film roles, here’s where the stars of Riverdale are now.

Charles Melton has arguably had one of the most explosive post-Riverdale trajectories. After earning critical acclaim for his performance in May December, Melton is continuing his momentum with a major return to television.
He is set to star in Season 2 of Beef, signaling a shift into more prestige, character-driven roles. Off-screen, Melton is also entering a new chapter personally—recently welcoming his first child, further cementing a transformative moment in both his career and life.

Since playing Betty Cooper, Lili Reinhart has leaned into darker, more complex storytelling. Following roles in Hustlers and Chemical Hearts, she continues to expand her creative reach as both an actress and producer.
Next up, Reinhart will star in the upcoming film Forbidden Fruits, a buzzy ensemble project that positions her firmly within the indie-meets-mainstream space. She’s also taken on producing roles, signaling a shift toward greater creative control behind the camera. Another starring role/producing role? The highly anticipated book-to-movie adaptation of The Love Hypothesis.

KJ Apa has taken a multifaceted approach post-Riverdale, balancing film roles with a growing presence in music. While continuing to appear in a range of movies, Apa is also leaning into his musical persona, known as Mr. Fantasy, who at times seems more goofy than not, with a brunette bob, fake teeth, and a whole lot of personality.
When he's not Mr. Fantasy, Apa is promoting his newest film, a biopic about Jimmy Stewart, Jimmy, Apa is bringing serious acting chops to his resume.

For Camila Mendes, life after Veronica Lodge looks blockbuster-bound. Mendes is set to appear in the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of Masters of the Universe, marking one of her biggest roles to date. Beyond film, Mendes has remained an It girl in fashion and pop culture, frequently attending major industry events while maintaining close ties with her former castmates.

After years as Jughead Jones, Cole Sprouse has gravitated toward more indie and visually driven projects. Already known for films like Five Feet Apart, Sprouse continues to build a career that blends acting with his work as a photographer. He’s remained relatively selective with roles, focusing on projects that align with his aesthetic sensibility.

Madelaine Petsch has firmly carved out a space for herself in the horror genre following her Riverdale days, becoming a key face of The Strangers franchise. After starring in The Strangers: Chapter 1, Petsch is set to continue her role in the upcoming installments, anchoring the rebooted trilogy and ushering in a new era for the cult-favorite series.
The shift feels natural for the actress, who has long gravitated toward darker, more suspense-driven storytelling.
