The NBA champion discusses the influences behind his personal style, his affinity for Dior, and why athletes are emerging as fashion's ultimate tastemakers.

There’s a natural ease to Aaron Gordon. Whether he’s anchoring a championship-caliber team or stepping into the world of luxury fashion, he moves through both with the same quiet confidence. Over the years, the Denver Nuggets forward has become as recognizable for his personal style as he is for his presence on the court, inspiring fans to follow everything from his signature sneakers to his off-duty wardrobe.
Yet fashion was never something Gordon consciously pursued. Instead, his sense of style developed organically, shaped by the culture that surrounded him growing up in California. “It wasn’t something that I followed,” he told L'OFFICIEL. “It came organically through being raised in California and being influenced by ’90s skate and basketball culture.”
While his wardrobe has evolved, Gordon hasn't lost the influences that shaped it. The worlds of luxury fashion and skate culture may seem miles apart, but in his case, they meet somewhere in the middle. We asked how Dior fits into his lifestyle, Gordon offered perhaps the most convincing endorsement possible: “Honestly, I feel like I could probably land a kickflip in Dior,” he said. “And that says a lot about how it fits into my world.”&nbsp;

L'OFFICIEL: Growing up, was fashion something you followed, or is it a world you've stepped into more recently?
AARON GORDON: It’s definitely a world I stepped into more recently. It wasn’t something that I followed but came organically through being raised in California and being influenced by ’90s skate and basketball culture.
L'O: What does your getting-ready process look like for a show like this, from the first fitting to arriving at the event?
AG: I spend a lot of time focused on the accessories and the details. Those finishing touches are what can really elevate a look and make it stand out, even when you’re just sitting in attendance. The little things are usually what pull everything together.

L'O: Do you see fashion as another form of self-expression, similar to basketball, or does it feel like a completely different creative outlet?
AG: It’s definitely another form of self-expression. What I’m wearing usually reflects how I’m feeling, so it gives people a sense of who I am and what’s going on inside.
L'O: We've seen athletes become some of fashion's biggest tastemakers in recent years. Why do you think the relationship between sports and fashion has become so intertwined?
AG:&nbsp; It’s the embodiment of “look good, feel good, do good." There’s a certain level of calm, cool, and collectedness, a certain level of poise you need to be excellent in your sport. A seamlessness that comes through when you’ve crafted your wardrobe off the court.&nbsp;

L'O: How would you define your personal style today, and how has it evolved since stepping into the spotlight?
AG: These days, my style leans toward slightly oversized, classic pieces that create timeless looks. Blue jeans, white tees, leather jackets, a great pair of slacks, nothing too tight, nothing too baggy. Over the years, I’ve stripped it back and become more intentional with what I wear. It’s minimal, simple, and understated, but still feels put together.
L'O: What is it about Dior in particular that resonates with your personal style? How does the brand fit into your world, both on and off the court?
AG: Dior has a lot of pieces that naturally fit my style, especially their cargos and vests. There’s a balance between luxury and wearability that I appreciate. Honestly, I feel like I could probably land a kickflip in Dior, and that says a lot about how it fits into my world.
