<p data-start="0" data-end="374">Ahead of Coachella Weekend One, there was something fitting about <span class="whitespace-normal">Tara Yummy</span> stepping into the desert with full Y2K energy. Known for her playful, nostalgic style and growing presence as a DJ, she approached the festival like an extension of her own world. For Tara, Coachella dressing meant fringe, mini shorts, suede, and bikini-inspired layers.</p>
<p data-start="376" data-end="740" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node=""><em>L&rsquo;OFFICIEL </em>chatted with Tara Yummy about all things Coachella, from who she hoped to run into to which artist she was most looking forward to seeing. And like many artists building their path, there was also a bigger dream in the background: one day returning to Coachella&mdash;not in the crowd, but on stage. <p>L'OFFICIEL: <em>Walk us through your looks for the weekend. What was the vision, and how long did it take </em><em>to pull together?</em></p>
<p>TARA YUMMY: I usually spend a lot of time searching for the perfect outfit each year, but this year, I waited until the last second to pull everything together. The first day, I made my lace shirt out of a pair of shorts (the night before we left) and the second day I leaned into the 2016 vibe with my cross headscarf and fringe. The last day, I really just wanted to be comfortable, so I based my outfit on an archival Ed Hardy scarf I thrifted and called it a day. This year for me was really about feeling my best and spending less time sweating in fur... like last year.&nbsp;</p>
<p>L'O: <em>Which artist are you actually running across the desert to see?</em></p>
<p>TY: Addison Rae. Jane Remover. Pink Pantheress.</p>

<p>L'O: <em>Festival survival essentials&mdash;what&rsquo;s always in your bag?</em></p>
<p>TY: Loops, always. A portable charger, Chapstick, and sunglasses. I travel light and always&nbsp;ask other people for things because I&rsquo;m the most type-B, unfortunately.</p>
<p>L'O: <em>How do you balance being present vs. creating content at a festival like this?</em></p>
<p>TY: Always going to weekend 2 ;)</p>
<p>L'O: <em>What&rsquo;s a hot take you have about Coachella that people might disagree with?</em></p>
<p>TY: I think that some people roll their eyes when they see someone go all out on their&nbsp;outfit, but I love it when people do it. I think people should wear whatever they want&nbsp;whether that is being comfortable in shorts and a shirt or going full-blown festival.&nbsp;After all, it&rsquo;s a festival for music and arts and I think people forget about that.</p>

<p>L'O: <em>Dream collab or celebrity you&rsquo;d want to randomly run into this weekend?</em></p>
<p>TY: Bill Nye the Science Guy. Do you think he&rsquo;d ever go to Coachella?</p>
<p>L'O: <em>Would you ever want to DJ Coachella one day, and what would that set look like?</em></p>
<p>TY: That&rsquo;s the goal. I&rsquo;ve been attending Coachella since I was seventeen, so it would really&nbsp;be a dream come true. I think I would be so excited, I would literally just want to play all&nbsp;my favorite songs. And hopefully by then, I&rsquo;d have some music out too ;) And special&nbsp;guests, of course.</p>
<p>L'O: <em>As someone who&rsquo;s familiar with Coachella, what advice would you give to someone attending </em><em>for the first time?</em></p>
<p>TY: Go with people that are FUN. The last thing you want is bad energy when your feet are killing you, you&rsquo;re dehydrated, and sweating.</p>
