Ahead of his arrival at Madison Square Garden, the English pop superstar reveals many complexities.

Three Grammy wins. 186,000 vinyls of Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally sold in its first week. Longest single-run residency by a musician at London's Wembley Stadium. Although these outstanding facts are incredible wins by Harry Styles, the English singer-songwriter and actor is just an [extra]ordinary guy.
While in the midst of his six-night stint in Mexico City for the Together, Together tour, the pop sensation spoke to Salvadoran writer and comedian Julio Torres. The conversation touched on topics such as public perception, handling comments, and the ultimate contribution to the industry.
But the energetic position Styles is currently in didn't appear out of the blue; it's the result of taking a break from touring and taking time to meet his needs as a human. Since his One Direction days, the artist was always on the road and felt "quite uncomfortable" with periods at home. Now, a balance has been achieved.
"The idea of not touring is less frightening to me. It feels quite special to be in it, bathe in it, and be aware it's not forever," Styles said to <a href="https://www.wmagazine.com/culture/harry-styles-cover-interview-together-together-tour">W Magazine</a>. "It doesn't come with this existentialism that it used to, when I was like, Who am I if I don't do this? I'm a little more comfortable with who I am if I'm not doing it, which makes touring a lot more enjoyable."

Even outside of the positive and negative feedback, Styles knows how it can affect one's talent. From the desire to be "great" at a younger age to critics lashing out at the latest project, the artist notes that neither side of the conversation is true. Instead, the collective is focused on.
Sure, fans pack stadiums across the globe to watch Styles dazzle in sparkly sequins on-stage. But the mere fact that he understands that the reason why fans, staff, and all the above are in the same environment for a universal reason is truly special. The contrast between offstage confidence and reflective post-shower thoughts, New York's high-frequency energy, and Halloween shows that emphasize togetherness were also touched on. For Styles, events such as concerts or sports matches keep ceremony alive.
"Post-Covid, and now in this AI time, there's something about standing next to a sweaty stranger and exchanging energy that you can't really replace with anything," Styles tells Torres. "The desire is for the more tangible, the little bits of magic that just happen."
In an era where technology only pushes out content that is ultimately forgotten, the pair bond over human flaws, unproductivity, and their shared hatred of "verify you're a human" pages. At the end of the day, Styles performs "solely because of them," the human beings that are his supportive, loud, and caring fans, wanting to live in the moment as he does.
