<p>Were you missing cheering for athletes on your screen this winter? Don't fret, tickets for the summer Olympics and Paralympic Games in LA just became available.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It's official: tickets for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games go on sale this week. While there are more than two years until the games, Southern California and Oklahoma residents will be able to get their hands on tickets as early as April 2nd. As of now, LA28 plans to release 14 million tickets, which would break the record for total tickets sold set by the Paris 2024 Games. These upcoming Games are already breaking records for ticket registrations, topping 5 million from 197 countries and territories in the first drop.</p>
<p>Here's everything you need to know about getting tickets for the upcoming LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.</p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">LA28: Tickets</h2>

<p>The first round of tickets will be available April 2-6 in a presale window, only for Southern California and Oklahoma residents in select counties: Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Ventura, and Oklahoma, Canadian, and Cleveland, respectively. The first general ticket sale window runs from April 9-19. Attendees who've registered for tickets using zip codes from the aforementioned counties were automatically entered into the presale lottery. Purchases made during the presale will be authorized only if completed using a payment method with a billing zip code from a qualifying county.&nbsp;</p>
<p>There's a 12-ticket maximum for each fan across all sports and sessions, plus 12 tickets for the soccer sessions that do not count towards the general maximum. The general limit includes a maximum of 4 tickets per ceremony for the opening and closing ceremonies. There is one type of ticket that will not count towards the general limit: those included in hospitality packages sold by On Location, the hospitality provider of the LA28 Games. Each attendee, including children and seniors of any age, will need a ticket.&nbsp;</p>
<p>One million tickets starting at $28 each will be available across all sports, but ticket prices will vary depending on seat location, sport, and session. The opening ceremony&ndash;which will take place at the Coliseum and SoFi Stadium on July 14, 2028&ndash; and the final of women's gymnastics, track and field, and swimming tend to be the most in-demand and expensive tickets. The most affordable tickets will be found for preliminary rounds or new sports, including squash and flag football, the two sports making their Olympic debuts in 2028.&nbsp;</p>
<p>In general, roughly 5% of all tickets are over $1,000, while more than 75% of Olympic tickets, including finals, are under $400, and almost half of the tickets are under $200. According to the LA28 website, they will not use dynamic pricing for the initial ticket sales, but prices could change for later drops. While fluctuating ticket prices are normal for large sporting events, they have also created concerns about skyrocketing prices.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Fortunately, verified tickets will be available, but not until 2027. AXS and Eventim are the official secondary marketplaces for the Games, and Ticketmaster and Sports Illustrated Tickets have also joined a multiplatform ticket resale program to provide tickets when resale opens in 2027.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">LA28: Time Slots</h2>

<p>Time slots for initial ticket sales are assigned by random lottery. For the locals presale window, notifications will be sent via email on a rolling basis starting March 31. Fans will be notified 48 hours before the time slot begins, with the last batch arriving as late as April 4. Fans will also receive reminders via email the day before and the day of their time slot.&nbsp;</p>
<p>For general ticket purchases, fans will receive notifications on April 7 with either an assigned date and time for the first ticket drop or a message confirming they've been registered for the next ticket drop.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Each presale or general sale time slot is open for 48 hours, and fans will have 30 minutes to complete their purchase once they add a ticket to their cart. Multiple purchases can be made within the assigned two-day window until the maximum ticket limit is reached.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">LA28: Events</h2>

<p>From the first drop, tickets will be available across all sports, but not every ticket will be released right away. If tickets for one sport sell out during the first drop, more tickets from the same sport could be added in the next drop.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Once time slots open, fans can buy tickets by sport, venue location, price, and medal event. At first, tickets will be available by category with specific seats being assigned closer to the event.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">LA28: Paralympics</h2>

<p>Tickets for the Paralympic Games will go on sale in 2027 and will follow many of the same procedures as the Olympics. Fans who've already registered for Olympics tickets do not need to register again for Paralympic tickets.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The first Paralympic Games in LA will open on August 15, 2027, but the competition will start on August 13th with wheelchair rugby. The 15-day competition window is the longest for a single-host Paralympic Games.</p>
