They came here for love—but did they leave with it?

<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/love-island-usa-season-8-cast-photos-ages-reveal-announcement-release-date" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Love Island USA Season 8</a> wrapped its six-week run on July 12, with Bryce Dettloff and Trinity Tatum walking away as America’s chosen winners. The finale closed out a season defined by a chaotic Casa Amor, an explosive movie night, and a jam-packed final week that saw four islanders sent home just before the last episode aired.
Peacock has confirmed the Love Island USA reunion special will air Aug. 31, with <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/ariana-madix-interview-quotes-love-island-usa-acting-tv-shows-films-fashion-style-boyfriend" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ariana Madix</a> returning alongside Andy Cohen as co-host. The streaming service has also renewed the spinoff Love Island: Beyond the Villa for a third season, set to premiere in 2027, with casting still to be announced. Fingers crossed a Brinity happily-ever-after is in our near future.&nbsp;
Because the season only just ended, this isn’t the usual “six months later” breakup and scandal roundup (give it a week), but here’s exactly where every couple left things, plus what to actually watch for once the group’s back on U.S. soil.&nbsp;

<h3 dir="ltr" style="text-align: center;">The Winners: Bryce Dettloff and Trinity Tatum</h3>

Between his handyman gig and her hardware store job, Bryce and Trinity’s connection was practically built to last—and it’s one of the only pairs that stayed standing from night one through the finale. Their connection briefly wobbled when both explored other bombshells, but they reunited within a day and never really looked back, staying loyal to each other through Casa Amor, the test that disheveled basically every other pair. 
They were the first couple of two to become “official” boyfriend and girlfriend this season, and during their final date, Bryce told Trinity he loved her. He’s already made clear intentions about her, inviting her to stay in L.A. with no expiration date, and that a trip to see where she grew up is already on the books. Even their families got along just as well, spending family day together and making plans for the future. If all the promises made and feelings exchanged between the two throughout the run of the show don’t show they’re made for each other, then the giddy smiles they share definitely do.&nbsp;&nbsp;

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Runner-Up: Aniya Harvey and Carl Schmidt</h3>

With this pair, it stood true that the princess had to kiss a lot of frogs before finding her prince. Who knew that the prince would be trapped inside a cake instead? After a forced pairing turned into long-term coupling between Aniya and KC in the beginning weeks, it became clear at Casa Amor that KC’s loyalties did not lie in the villa. But everything happens for a reason, and even though she sent him home originally, Carl was destined to come back, and he did—popping out of a cake during a Megan Thee Stallion-hosted challenge after America voted to bring him back from elimination. It wasn’t exactly the fairy-tale entrance anyone saw coming, but it worked, and with both of them single again, Aniya and Carl finally got the chance to explore the connection that had been building since Casa Amor. It was a full-circle moment for anyone who remembers Aniya in tears the night KC returned from Casa with Tierra, insisting through sobs that she should’ve kept Carl. Should’ve, could’ve–Carl’ve, as it turned out. They coupled up and rode that momentum all the way to a second-place finish on finale night.&nbsp;

<h3 dir="ltr" style="text-align: center;">Third Place: Melanie Moreno and Sincere Rhea</h3>

Sincere loved his metaphors, and the best one stands to be that Melanie was cookie-dough ice cream, his favorite. The only problem was he’d never had pistachio before—enter Sol (and Amora)—and he wasn’t about to leave the villa without finding out what he was missing. So he tried it, and a few weeks later, shocking no one but himself, he realized his favorite was his favorite for a reason. The entire season, Sincere put Melanie through the wringer, and as Jen put it, he was sincere, but definitely not honest. Family reunion day didn’t help his case either, as his own dad called him out for his behavior, and Melanie’s mom and sister pulled her aside to make the case that she deserved better. Melanie heard all of it and stayed anyway, saying she owed it to herself to see it through. By finale night, she seemed at peace with the choice, and the two discussed plans for more dates in Philadelphia once they returned home. Sincere claims he changed throughout the six weeks, so far, so good (one day in…). Whether their relationship holds up outside the villa, without a movie night or other unexplored ice cream flavors to catch him, is the only real cliffhanger left in their story.

<h3 dir="ltr" style="text-align: center;">Fourth Place: Kayda Bosse and Zach Georgiou</h3>

Zach initially coupled up with original islander Kenzie on day one but decided early on that their connection—and her hair color— wasn’t right, choosing to explore with bombshell Kayda instead. The two stayed together for the rest of the season, surviving the Hideaway and Casa Amor (on a technicality, since Zach’s connection was removed from the villa prematurely), finishing in fourth place, much to their surprise. Ending the season “exclusive,” or in a situationship, as Trinity puts it, Kayda finally beat out Bryce for Zach’s devotion, as he decided in the last episode, he’s willing to move anywhere, likely New Hampshire, for her post-villa. Fourth place aside, Zach leaves the villa having technically won two relationships: one with Kayda and one bromance with Bryce, whom he called “the real winner” in a confessional. Whether “exclusive” turns into “official” once they’re both back stateside remains to be seen.

<h3 dir="ltr" style="text-align: center;">Sent Home Just Before the Finale:</h3>

In keeping with Love Island tradition, six couples were still standing heading into the season’s final stretch, but a fan vote trimmed the field to four right before the final episode.

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Kenzie Annis and Dylan Wrona</h3>

Kenzie, our angry splitting queen, had a villa journey that was less a love story than a group project with rotating members. She started with Zach, pivoted to Corbin, got reassigned to Caleb by America’s vote, recoupled back with Corbin, only for him to leave her behind as soon as he heard the words “Casa Amor.” This led her to find her real footing with Casa boy Dylan. He questioned whether her feelings were genuine at first, as movie night showed him she had a deep history of rostering the villa boys (which is arguably the point of Love Island: to explore), but a strong family visit sealed the deal, and the two left the season fully committed to each other. It just wasn’t enough to survive America’s vote, so Kenzie and Dylan were sent home in the final cut. Since filming their Aftersun goodbye and boarding the plane out of Fiji, the couple has posted online together, visiting Gal’s coffee shop in Los Angeles, still looking A-okay as a couple since departing the island a few days ago. He wasn’t the country boy she had imagined herself leaving with, but he does bring a smile to her face, and they clearly make the best karaoke—and dance—partners.&nbsp;

<h3 style="text-align: center;">KC Chandler and Tierra Davis</h3>

KC has a love-hate relationship with Love Island fans, but ultimately, his story with Tierra is just one of love, which makes hating him for ditching Aniya a whole lot harder—though we can still try. Throughout his time coupled with Aniya, he stayed loyal despite weeks of temptation, until he returned from Casa Amor with Tierra, or as America knows her, Titi. The two stayed coupled up during the season’s final stretch, including a scavenger hunt leading to KC asking Titi to be his girlfriend in the final episodes. While they were voted out alongside Kenzie and Dylan just before the finale, they left as boyfriend and girlfriend, and in high spirits about their future together. On Aftersun the next night, Titi hinted that she wasn’t keen on staying friends with the villa girls, although her relationship with KC (her first boyfriend) would have to stand the test of time as they began dating a mere nine days after meeting.&nbsp;

<h3 dir="ltr" style="text-align: center;">Other Couples Worth Remembering:</h3>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Corbin Mims and Parmida Keshani</h3>

Corbin and Parmida’s Casa Amor-born relationship was NOT one of lust, obviously. They are just two attractive people who work out and look really good together, and that’s it, as she puts it. Jokes aside, the two left the villa hand-in-hand after being voted out post-karaoke challenge. Being the first couple to officially “close off” on the island and Parmida’s long-lived plans to move to Miami, where Corbin already lives, the two plan to stay close and see where things go, assuming he’s actually a person, that is, and not AI. The only real update we have post-villa is from Aftersun, where Parmida made it very clear she’s not worried about getting hurt, and she can get any man she wants, so if Corbin messes this up, she’ll be just fine without him. Beyond that soundbite, the two have been quiet since leaving Fiji.&nbsp;

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Jen Terry and Gal Tshnieder</h3>

Our everything bagel—and Gal. Although these two didn’t leave as a couple, they at least had a memorable villa arc, even if it ended in Gal choosing basically everyone but Jen. After Gabriel’s elimination left her without a partner, Jen found Gal at Casa Amor, and she kept him in the villa, hoping something would build from it. Gal, however, spent the following weeks eyeing Kenzie and ended up choosing Amora to couple up with, sending Jen home. It didn’t matter either way, as all three (Jen, Gal, and Amora) were sent home the same night. Even in their final moments as a “couple,” Jen made it clear there wasn’t one—they weren’t together, and hadn’t been when he chose Amora. Post-villa, Gal caught plenty of heat online for how he handled things, to the point that his coffee shop started giving out free coffees to anyone named Jen, a bit that somehow followed the two of them past the villa. 
These days, their post-show dynamic reads less like an ex-couple and more like an odd-couple friendship, built almost entirely on the running joke that she’s doing great and he, respectfully, was an idiot.

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Caleb McDaniel and Jaiden Bacciocco</h3>

Caleb and Jaiden had one of those villa romances that looked promising on paper and rocky in practice. Jaiden joined during Casa Amor, hit it off with single Caleb almost immediately, and the two came back to the main villa together. But “together” turned out to be doing a lot of heavy lifting as Caleb wanted more affection than he felt he was getting, and Jaiden wanted him to actually talk to her instead of airing their issues to the rest of the villa first. They patched things up enough to look functional just before elimination, but their fellow islanders weren’t buying it, landing them low on the compatibility vote, and they were sent packing in Episode 27. 
Post-villa, they claimed to give it a shot, trying to stay in touch, but rumors swirled that Jaiden was texting an ex, Caleb was jetting around the states, and soon enough, they had confirmed what most fans already suspected: they were done, and this time for good.&nbsp;
