Ahead of presenting at the 2026 BAFTAs, the actor invited&nbsp;L&rsquo;OFFICIEL into his getting-ready routine, stepping into the evening in sharp Canali suiting that feels both classic and quietly commanding. It&rsquo;s a fitting look for a star who continues to balance old-school leading-man polish with a modern, risk-taking edge. He pairs the suit off with an elegant timepiece from TAG Heuer.&nbsp;

From styling tips to reimagining Jay Gatsby for a 2026 audience, the actor reflects on style, storytelling, and the art of stepping into the spotlight on his own terms.

L'OFFICIEL: Are you a last-minute decision maker with fashion, or is the BAFTAs look planned weeks in advance?
REG&Eacute;-JEAN PAGE: There's a healthy mix of spontaneity and long-term planning to this kind of look. There's thinking about what I've won previously, what I want to wear in the future, and then, most importantly, leaving space for spontaneity in the moment, leaving space for a feeling that surprises you, and most importantly, being appropriate to the specific situation, so you can play in the arena that you're going into and feel free.&nbsp;

LO: You&rsquo;re wearing Canali this evening. On a day-to-day basis, whether you&rsquo;re on a red carpet or enjoying a chill day alone, how does style play a role in your life? How would you define your style?
RJP: I like clothes to support me, so it depends what I'm doing that day, who I'm meeting, how I want to feel; and then you match the style to the event, so when it's something like the BAFTAs, you're dressing up and want to feel that you can express yourself, and other days it's about a more personal connection. It's about finding the mix of expression and something that enables you to be as much yourself that day as you can.&nbsp;

LO: As a producer and lead actor, you have plenty of sway on set, but when it comes to your red carpet looks, do you prefer to let your stylist work their magic, or are you all-in on the decision-making process?
RJP: I approach styling very similarly to how I approach working on set. Everything is collaboration, everything is 'what do I have to offer to this process?' and more importantly, have a huge amount of respect for expertise. What can I receive, what can I learn, and how can I make space for you to express yourself in collaboration with myself.&nbsp;

LO: You have 'You, Me &amp; Tuscany' coming up&mdash;a rom-com with Halle Bailey. How does it feel to lean into something lighter and playful after more serious roles in the past?
RJP: I'm really looking forward to the rom-com that Hallie and I have got coming up. I think I always look for lightness in most work, so I don't see a huge difference between genres. Like, yes, this is very aspirational. This is very kind of love will save us, but I've certainly done that before, just in different tones of the palette. So it's refreshing to go and play with a big smile on your face, but I approach the work the same way as I do with everything else.

LO: It&rsquo;s been announced that you will be producing and starring in an adaptation of The Great Gatsby. If Jay Gatsby were getting ready for the BAFTAs in 2026, what do you think he&rsquo;d wear?
RJP: Yeah, I'm really enjoying the work that we're doing for Gatsby at the moment. If Jay Gatsby were getting dressed for the BAFTAs, I think he would be wearing something incredibly well thought out. It would be something luxurious and never accidental. He always knows exactly how he wants to present himself and exactly how to make an impression.
