Oh, what a beautiful night!

One of the biggest and most recognizable awards ceremonies is the Oscars, otherwise known as the Academy Awards. 2019 celebrated the show's 91st anniversary and the beauty trends were equally as celebrated with an emphasis on eyeliner, a variety of pink and so much more. Between singer and actor, Billy Porter, wearing a dress to Jason Momoa accessorizing with a scrunchie the looks were daring and bold.

Pretty in Pink

Pink tones have always been a popular trend. What was different about this year was the variety of pink shades - not just one tone. Kacey Musgraves wore a sweet pink pastel Giambattista Valli mesh gown with the silver bow belt. Meanwhile, Kiki Layne, the actress from "If Beale Street Could Talk," wore a solid print with shoulder details in a light pink. Helen Mirren wore a mesh, long-sleeved, fushia dress that brought light and color to the red carpet.

Smokey Eyes

The full smokey eye was a major trend that was spotted on the Oscar's red carpet. Jennifer Lopez wore a Tom Ford mirrored dress and completed the look with a dark brown and black smokey eye. Tessa Thompson, the actress from the movie Creed I and Creed II, and Angela Bassett both wore smokey eyes.

Lots of Liner

At the 2019 Oscars, eyeliner was the highlight of all the makeup looks. Whether it was Lady Gaga's metallic silver eyeliner or Elsie Fisher, the actress starring in "Eighth Grade," who wore a cat eyed look - the sharp tail added intense dimension.

Short Hair, Don't Care

Long, straight, or curled hair dazzled the Oscars this year - and it came as no surprise. But, there were some actresses that arrived rocking short hair, emphasizing beauty that is different. Charlize Theron, who typically walks red carpets with blonde hair in various cuts and styles, surprised the crowd with a refreshingly short brown bob.

Matchy Matchy

Another trend is matching the makeup to the same color scheme as the dress and jewelry. Laura Herrier donned a blue eyeliner look that matched her blue sequined Louis Vuitton dress. Her eyes shined just as much as the sequins. Emma Stone was dressed in a Louis Vuitton shimmering gown with high arched shoulders, the orange-brown color scheme complimented the deep brown that highlighted her eyes.
