The new creative director delivered exactly what the house needed: minimalist opulence with a pulse, wrapped in shadows and '80s silhouettes.

The show opened with slow-rising blinds illuminating a runway shrouded in white fabric and fog&mdash;almost like an old house where furniture sits covered in dust sheets, full of ghosts. Through narrow pathways between draped forms, an army of models emerged, moving through years of the brand's history to pave the way for <a href="https://preview.lofficielusa.com/fashion/antonin-tron-balmain-french-designer-creative-director" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Antonin Tron</a>'s new era.
Set to a pulsing techno soundtrack, the pace felt urgent, almost predatory&mdash;like night owls out hunting in the dark. The looks were sensual and shadowy, anchored by '80s silhouettes that dominated the runway: exaggerated shoulder pads, sharply defined waists, deep V-necks interspersed with high turtlenecks. It was a familiar silhouette, but not as we've known it.
Black ruled the palette, but mustard, military green, chocolate, and the perfect shade of petrol blue broke through. Gold accents caught the light in small, deliberate doses. And then there was the unapologetic animal print&mdash;rendered in devor&eacute; and embroidery, because subtlety has never been the brand's language.
Leather and oversized coats provided the expected armor for next winter, but silk and lace slipped in quietly, nodding to the designer's signature handcrafted draping from his <a href="https://preview.lofficielusa.com/fashion/with-atlein-antonin-tron-channels-his-roots" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Atlein</a> days. Slits, cutouts, and bralettes appeared throughout&mdash;not screaming for attention, but commanding it anyway. This was Tron's minimalist opulence: restrained but never boring, architectural but always sensual.
It felt like an ode to the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/balmain-spring-summer-2026-collection-runway-images" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Balmain</a> woman&mdash;unapologetic, badass, and entirely in control. This debut wasn't about rewriting DNA; it was about refining it, stripping away the excess to reveal the structure underneath. Tron knew the fashion world had high expectations for a newcomer stepping into&nbsp;<a href="https://preview.lofficielusa.com/fashion/olivier-rousteing-exits-balmain-after-14-years" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Olivier Rousteing</a>'s glittering legacy, but he wasn't afraid to bring his own vision to the table.&nbsp;
The result? Proof that his sculptural precision and the house's maximalism might just be the perfect match to usher in a new chapter.
