Kicking the Spring/Summer 2026 season off with <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/all-the-nyfw-shows-gen-z-is-most-excited-for">New York Fashion Week</a>, it's safe to say there's an ultra-chic year ahead. As we very well know, no look is complete without an accessory. Thankfully, the latest runways have plenty of fresh, inventive takes on classic accessories to reference.
Setting the stage for your future wardrobe inspiration, the accessories in the Spring/Summer 2026 runways hint at notes from the mid-2000s&mdash;think oversized sunglasses, fringed accessories, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/gracie-abrams-bandana-headwear-trend-summer-2025">bandanas</a>, and thick waistbands. While some designers looked toward the past, others embraced modern <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/toteme-spring-summer-2026-runway-looks-images">minimalism</a> with sleek neck coverings, long necklaces, and classic t-strap sandals.&nbsp;&nbsp;

This season, waistbands have been highlighted by several designers, and it's safe to say their creations have us wrapped around their fingers. Exhibited through many mediums, Brandon Maxwell uses animal print with thick silver hardware, while Campillo plays with feathers and structure, highlighting the waist. Rachel Comey adds structures with a double belt, while Diotima experiments with texture in the form of a sheer fabric outlining the natural silhouette of the body.

Long necklaces have charmed their way onto the runways as they serve more than just an aesthetically pleasing accessory. Leaning into practicality, many designers used these pieces as resources to hold or display everyday items. TWP showed off a decidedly chic way to wear your glasses, while Michael Kors and Coach flaunted small bags at the end of the necklace, made to hold any little trinket you could possibly need.

This season, we dive into office-core once again as formal meets the everyday&mdash;take it from the ties spotted on more than a few runways. Ralph Lauren takes on a more classic approach to the trend, while Coach creates some edge with a tie clipped to the side of many jackets. Building the ideal office siren, Jane Wade gives us the perfect necktie to feed off this trend. Meanwhile, Luar experiments with size, as seen in a mini black satin tie, the perfect accessory to elevate any look.&nbsp;

This summer&mdash;and every one before it&mdash;protecting the eyes and face is the utmost priority, spurred by growing awareness of UV-related skin conditions. As we know well, practicality doesn't mean passionless. Enter oversized sunglasses. These style staples take the stage this season in countless colors to choose from. Christian Cowan gives us orange-tinted sunglasses, making for the perfect spicy, seasonally appropriate look, while labels like Tory Burch, Brandon Maxwell, and Toteme offer up the more traditional black oversized pair&mdash;the most timeless&nbsp;and&nbsp;useful accessory, adept in both adding a bit of extra drama and hiding eyes full of fierce attitude.&nbsp;

From Calvin Klein&rsquo;s solid colors to Sandy Liang's festive florals, bandanas have already proven to be a chic way to keep your hair out of your face for the duration of the hotter months. Constructed from a variety of fabrics, patterns, and textures, Anna Sui offers up romantic, dreamy lace numbers, while Zankov doubles down on irreverent, eye-catching, and decidedly nontraditional stripes.&nbsp;

Demure D&eacute;collet&eacute;

This season, it's all about dressing up the d&eacute;collet&eacute;, according to our favorite designers who have created a range of accessories revolving around the neck. Though scarves are typically reserved for the cold-weather months, labels like Maria McManus and Prabal Gurung offer unique, playful takes on the piece, transforming it from a tool of necessity to a flirty, yet sophisticated accessory. Taking a different approach, Coach and Calvin Klein offered a design more adjacent to the classic choker. Whether long or short, a demure d&eacute;collet&eacute; will surely be a sought-after trend come warmer weather days.&nbsp;

From Michael Kors to Proenza Schouler, fringed accessories have taken our attention as both showed bags with fringe detailing&ndash;we can predict that we will be seeing more of it in the future. Fforme also showed us fringe with a neutral colored necklace, making a big impact on the look, while, no surprise, Diotima played with fringe detailing throughout the show. With multiple ways to wear, fringe looks like it will be taking over many summer wardrobes.&nbsp;

The T-strap sandal brings us back to basics this season. Zankov and Diotima displayed a more traditional summer shoe, accented by thin, delicate leather straps, effectively leading the charge on the minimalist, barely-there shoe silhouette. Labels like Khaite and Kallmeyer look to an alternative, distant footwear future, with elements like bulky, eye-catching silhouettes, vibrant hues, and exotic prints. Simple and practical, the T-strap sandal is slated to take over for Spring/Summer 2026.&nbsp;
