In Rome, Alessandro Michele presented his latest line for the label.&nbsp;

For Valentino, Rome isn't just a unique, off-calendar show location&mdash;it's the center of the label's universe. As the first runway presentation for the label since <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/valentino-garavani-death-legacy-fashion-label-signature-designs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">its founder's passing</a> earlier this year, the choice to set the show in Rome at the Palazzo Barberini isn't just an ode to Valentino himself&mdash;it's an homage to his legacy, his life, and the groundbreaking impact he had on the industry as a whole. For the Fall/Winter 2026 collection, titled Interferenze, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/new-valentino-creative-director" target="_blank" rel="noopener">creative director Alessandro Michele</a>&mdash;who is also from Rome&mdash;works in opposing forces.&nbsp;
"Interferenze unveils the collision between code and deviation, lightness and gravity, rule and profusion, transparency and opacity, conformity,&nbsp;and transgression. What emerges is a collection that celebrates order while simultaneously revealing&nbsp;its structural vulnerability, exposing it to the possibility of its own overcoming," Michele muses in his show notes.
As per usual, Michele looks to <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/80s-renaissance-fashion-trends-cultural-social-movement-nostalgia-outfit-inspiration-vintage-archive-photos" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the '80s</a> for his sartorial inspiration. Impossibly wide belts appear in a range of bold, vivid colors and luxe textures, offsetting the sensational volume of strong-shouldered tops and jackets. In slinky, silky styles, Michele's masterful craft and Valentino's characteristic dramatic opulence came to a head. Precise pleats, delicate drapery, and floaty romantic styles, all presented in these fine fabrics, offer up a dreamy quality that don't just speak for themselves&mdash;they interact with the collection at large, creating one part of an exquisite juxtaposition against stronger silhouettes.
To be sure, Michele brought his iconic flair to each look, but throughout the line, fashion fans couldn't help but notice all of the nods to the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/valentino-garavani-design-signatures-red-leopard-print" target="_blank" rel="noopener">house's illustrious history</a> and extensive archives that were included. Case in point, the Rockstud heels that made a statement each time they appeared down the grassy runway.&nbsp;
On both ends of the aesthetic spectrum, a sultry sensibility emerged. Sheer styles, lace detailing, and plunging necklines appeared on a range of looks, acting as a disruptive visual element for the bold and soft looks alike.&nbsp;
Though Paris Fashion Week wrapped up just a few days before the show, a throng of celebrities, editors, and models diverted their journeys home to land in Rome for the occasion&mdash;because when Valentino calls, you answer. In the front row, stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, Lily Allen, Colman Domingo, Tyla, Devon Lee Carlson, Georgina Rodr&iacute;guez, Clairo, Iris Law, and PinkPantheress, among others, gathered to take in all of the label's latest and greatest designs.&nbsp;
