The blizzard that hit NYC may have put a wrench in the couple's travel plans, but to them, it was a challenge to create their own experience&mdash;not a setback.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Now that <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/celebrities-at-new-york-fashion-week-fall-winter-2026-shows-ralph-lauren-marc-jacobs-coach-tory-burch-michael-kors-calvin-klein-models-singers-actors" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Fashion Week</a> is over, the fashion scene is already onto the next destination: Milan Fashion Week. But, as any hopeful jetsetter knows, travel in and outside of New York City in the past week has been disrupted&mdash;to say the least&mdash;by the city's near-record-breaking snowstorm.&nbsp;Unfortunately for the hundreds of editors, models, and content creators based in NYC, the week's first few events (including the highly anticipated <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/diesel-fall-winter-2026-runway-images-milan-fashion-week" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Diesel Fall/Winter 2026 show</a>) were not to be. Among the fashion crowd stuck in the city were none other than Isabelle Chaput and Nelson Tiberghien of Young Emperors&mdash;aka, the iconic French visual artists who have gone viral time and time again for their matching outfits.
To be sure, the flight cancellation was a major disappointment, but for the couple, it felt familiar in a way. Not long after creating the Young Emperors social media accounts, the pandemic struck, so they had to get creative with their short-form content&mdash;and quick. To no surprise, their whimsy, creativity, and true love for dressing up prevailed, resulting in a massive online presence. After the quarantine and isolation periods slowly rolled back, the pair found themselves a fixture of the fashion world in a new way.&nbsp;
Though the couple was supposed to sit front row at Diesel's Fall/Winter 2026 runway show, the blizzard presented other plans for the pair. The average snowed-in style icon might cozy up on the couch, call a friend to complain, or simply cry it out, but for Young Emperors, the snowstorm offered up a unique opportunity. Putting their creativity to work, the duo built a snowman, staged a photoshoot, and put on an impromptu show watch party of two in a New York City park&mdash;all while sporting the Diesel looks they had selected for the show.&nbsp;&nbsp;

L'O: Unfortunately, you're not in Milan for the Diesel show due to the blizzard, and as any&nbsp;seasoned fashion week attendee knows, travel complications are almost always a fixture of the&nbsp;week in some way or another. Have you had any similarly wild travel stories in past fashion&nbsp;weeks? How did you bring the spirit of Milan to your home for your virtual Diesel viewing?&nbsp;
YE: The real question would be when have we not had travel complications during fashion week?&nbsp;Fashion month is always stressful in that regard, but it is also part of the fun of it! It&rsquo;s always an&nbsp;adventure, and these moments make us appreciate even more how lucky we are to be a part of&nbsp;fashion week. But there is one moment that stands out because we were so close to making it&nbsp;after a cancelled and rebooked flight, that we arrived in front of the doors of the show that had&nbsp;just been closed, and unfortunately, the show had already started, so we couldn&rsquo;t make it in&mdash;that one was heartbreaking!
 Even though the weather prevented us from flying to Milan and attending the Diesel show&nbsp;physically, which broke our hearts, we could argue that viewing the show online in a snow&nbsp;blizzard surrounded by snowmen is a one-of-a-kind experience&mdash;silver linings! We decided that&nbsp;the snow would not defeat us, and we dressed up in the outfits we had selected for the show and&nbsp;went outside to view it on our phones, while the people of New York joyfully gathered to build&nbsp;snowmen around us in the park. So the Milanese vibe was not necessarily present, but we&nbsp;definitely brought the Diesel vibes to the New York blizzard.

L'O: How did you decide on your looks for the show? Were there any styles or pieces that you knew you really wanted to wear?
YE: When our eyes met the beautiful neutral tones color story of the pieces, we fell in love. A mix of elegant, flowing fabrics and bold denim accents with the shoes. We loved the layering effect of the pieces, making it a complex yet incredibly comfortable outfit. And let&rsquo;s not forget about the&nbsp;beautiful matching bags that tied this whole thing together, so cool and chic (and practical) with&nbsp;a cheeky little hair-clip attached to the strap.

L'O: How does your personal style fit into the world of Diesel&rsquo;s aesthetics and&nbsp;sartorial codes?
YE: Diesel is synonymous with coolness, rebellious attitude, and effortlessness&mdash;a punk with a joyful heart, and that&rsquo;s something we definitely aspire to be in the way we dress, and something we relate to at the core of who we are. There is this beautiful alchemy between the distressed materials, the freedom of the cuts, the sexiness of the looks, and the comfort of the clothing, a mix of movement and rigidity, a recipe that we love. There&rsquo;s also a kitsch and ironic element to the brand, which is very us. 
The fact that Diesel clothing is made to be worn, and to be lived in, danced in, is something I (Isabelle) personally relate to, as I have been known&mdash;allegedly&mdash;to be clumsy, so wearing pieces that can survive me is so comforting.

L'O: Are there any particular aesthetics or trends you&rsquo;re loving (or hating) at the moment? What are you looking forward to seeing from the fashion world in the upcoming seasons?
YE: In general, we never really love or hate trends, as we know they are a moment that is bound to&nbsp;pass and come back, but they are a great way to find out what suits you and what doesn&rsquo;t, as it&nbsp;makes you try new things and find your personal style. Right now, we love the fact that&nbsp;&ldquo;medieval aesthetic&rdquo; is trending, as we have always been very inspired by medieval clothing and history.
Fashion is incredibly important in culture and history, and is not only an art form, but also a&nbsp;means for expression, and relating it to our current era, we are excited to see a shift and bolder propositionsa rebellious spirit.

L'O: Your content is all about sparking joy and creativity through fashion&mdash;a philosophy that Diesel also shares. What&rsquo;s the most fulfilling part about working and living in the fashion world? Have online responses to your looks resonated with you or surprised you?
 YE: What we love in the fashion world is the freedom of creativity and the community. Our videos and ideas almost always come from jokes that we both laugh at and things that we try, and we never thought would resonate with other people, especially not that many!
It&nbsp;has been such a blessing to find this community of people from all walks of life, from all over&nbsp;the world, who share our love for creativity, fun, beauty, and are kind and accepting. L'O: Out of all of the cold-weather attire in Diesel's Fall/Winter 2026 collection, which&nbsp;pieces look fit for the current snowstorm?
YE: There were actually so many perfect pieces for this blizzard, particularly colorful leather jackets&nbsp;and leather pants-boots that would be ideal to face the harsh weather and would definitely&nbsp;make one stand out in the white snow (also perfect for safety). One bubblegum pink cocoon&nbsp;jacket with slashed details comes to mind immediately; one would feel so safe (and hot) in that piece. This collection felt like a dystopian punk cool kid, with a playfulness in colors and&nbsp;patterns, and the signature effortless and distressed textures and silhouettes of Diesel. The set, filled with reused objects from past sets and events, gave the collection a perfect&nbsp;backdrop, with irony and fun, but also a contemporary art feel&mdash;like a Diesel museum.
