The Swedish, often avant-garde, brand Acne Studios has plans to combine pre-collection shows and ready-to-wear to present only two yearly collections for both Men's and Women's. Though during the couture presentations, Acne Studios' staging will happen independently of the official calendar.
"We made this decision, because we want to focus on the main thing. The pace of work is now so intense that we lose sight of important things. High-quality design takes time, so we want to concentrate on this, rather than strive to produce as many collections as possible." explained Matthias Magnusson, the company's CEO.
The brand has shown no signs of lagging in innovation, so devotees are likely in for even bigger surprises. In April of this year, the brand relaunched its Blå Konst denim line, in an apparent attempt to have more commercial appeal.
