This movement away from conventional means of celebrating romantic unions isn't entirely new, though. Miss Marilyn Monroe wed three times, and her second marriage was to baseball player <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/marilyn-monroe-apology-note-to-joe-dimaggio-christies-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe DiMaggio.</a> Their tumultuous married life began with a San Francisco courthouse wedding in 1953, to which Monroe wore a black jacket with a white fur collar and a pencil skirt.

Elizabeth Taylor

Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn dressed as a Gothic Barbie as she said "I do" to her beau Christian Richard. The dramatic black dress matched the gothic, winter-wonderland-themed wedding ceremony, and was designed by Galia Lahav. It's not easy to pull off such a statement bridal dress, much less make it luxurious &mdash; but like everything she wears, Quinn was more than able to pull it off.
