Heidi Slimane seems to be enjoying his new position at Celine. First, he redesigned the brand’s entire aesthetic, and now, he’s unveiled the brand’s first-ever menswear campaign.
Featuring a collection of photography showcased against French band Ruth’s Polaroïd/Roman/Photo, the entire three-and-something-minute long video montage continues to abandon everything Philo-era Céline once was. Inspired by Paris’s post-punk and cold wave moments of the 70s and 80s, it was a fitting choice that fell in line with Slimane's de facto creative aesthetic.
With the collection available next February, we'll get to see if Slimane's magic still has its kick and whether LVMH made a smart move in appointing the controversial designer.
