Punk-inspired looks by Victoria’s Secret and Balmain shared the stage with Harry Styles yesterday in Shanghai at the taping of the VS Fashion Show. Airing next Tuesday, November 28, the star-studded show was a constellation of genres as a solo Styles was among headliners Chinese pop star Jane Zhang, Tony-award winning Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr., and Grammy-award winning R&B singer Miguel. With four performers instead of their usual two, VS stepped up their star power as two big names were not in attendance.

Three days before taping, Gigi Hadid announced on Twitter that she could not attend the Victoria’s Secret show this year, sparking speculation after four models were reportedly denied visas to enter China (along with Katy Perry). Coupled with Kendall Jenner’s absence from the VS runway after her deal with lingerie line La Perla, that makes two high-profile models missing from this year’s show.

Nonetheless, stars like Karlie Kloss, returning after a two-year hiatus, and Bella Hadid walked wing-clad down the runway.
