Twenty years since its original release, this 2000s cult classic returns with a modern twist.

<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/tags/y2k" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Y2K</a> fans gather around, this is not a drill. The <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/tags/fendi" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fendi</a> Spy bag is back, tapping into the nostalgia of the 2000s with a modern twist.&nbsp;
The Fendi Spy bag, a cult-classic in the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/tags/y2k" target="_blank" rel="noopener">early 2000s</a>, made a return to the runway in the brand&rsquo;s <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/fendi-spring-summer-2025-collection-milan-fashion-week" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fall/Winter 2025</a> show. Reimagined by Silvia Venturini Fendi, the new Spy Bag retains its signature twisted handles and leather construction, but is now offered in an additional, smaller size and enhanced with modern detailing. A hidden pocket is concealed beneath the flap, accessible via a discreet button, and framed in a small golden metal arch.
Released in 2005, the Fendi Spy has been worn by icons like the Olsen twins and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/nicole-richie-y2k-fashion-style-looks-paris-hilton" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nicole Richie</a>. The bag became an instant hit due to its large and distinctive silhouette and woven leather, but it was the hidden coin purse in the foldover flap that gave the bag its undercover appeal, and its name.&nbsp;

The Fendi Spy embodies themes of privacy and intimacy, as its namesake originates from the covert nature of the bag.&nbsp;
&ldquo;I liked the idea of the secret compartment because a bag is a place where you keep your most intimate belongings. It&rsquo;s an extension of yourself,&rdquo; stated Silvia Venturini Fendi. &ldquo;I like that there might be something you&rsquo;d want to keep just for you, that&rsquo;s why I conceived the hidden pocket.&rdquo;

Fendi&rsquo;s <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/fendi-fall-winter-2025-100th-anniversary-fashion-show-watch" target="_blank" rel="noopener">centennial collection</a>, titled &ldquo;Fendi 100&rdquo;, reflects a journey through the brand&rsquo;s rich history and its forward-looking vision. Venturini Fendi emphasises that the collection is &ldquo;more about my personal memories &mdash; real or imagined &mdash; of what Fendi was and what Fendi means today,&rdquo; focusing on personal narratives over archival replication.
The reintroduction of the Spy Bag exemplifies Fendi&rsquo;s commitment to honouring its heritage while innovating for the future. With its blend of classic design and modern charm, the Spy Bag reasserts its status as a timeless accessory for the contemporary fashion enthusiast, joining house icons Baguette and Peekaboo.
The renewed Fendi Spy Bag celebrates the house&rsquo;s <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/fendi-brand-history-karl-lagerfeld-silvia-venturini-career" target="_blank" rel="noopener">enduring legacy</a> and creative spirit. Launching together with the Women&rsquo;s and Men&rsquo;s Fall/Winter 2025-26 collections, it will be available in select boutiques worldwide and on fendi.com starting from July 17, 2025.
