Kim Shui Fall 2018

The designer to Cardi B and Solange (among others) presented another collection worthy of downtown cool girls everywhere. In 2016, the Parsons and Central Saint Martins trained designer debuted and VFiles, and just last season, she presented a captivating show in New York City’s financial district, inside Century 21. Here, our show notes for the label to watch.

Memorable piece —

Look 8, a hybrid fur puffer coat with a high collar, floral motifs and yellow puffed sleeves. Finally, a new inventive take on the classic puffer.


Remarkable fabric —

Puffer material was used throughout the collection in new ways. In coats of all shapes and sizes, but also as an extension to knee-high boots.



Collection inspiration —

The collection was influenced by extreme sportswear and activewear made for a modern woman. “The Kim Shui Girl takes on the intense reality we live in of survival, while continuing to address elements of chance with a new, dynamic and active collection,” the show notes read.


Potential trend —

Floor length puffer coats gone extreme: with bright furs, leopard prints, or just the puffer material itself worn as sleeves or over boots.


Model moment –

Kim Shui cast an amazing cast of diverse models—all who were asian, ranging from East Asian to India.
