Every September, 10 days of fashion moments keep many tuned into the world's oldest film festival.&nbsp;

For over a century, the red carpet has been transformed into something remarkable. From its debut in 1922 for the premiere of Robin Hood at Hollywood's Egyptian Theatre to the Academy Awards' implementation in 1961, the ceremonious experience has long been a fixture of fashion and pop culture.
As the world's oldest film festival, the Venice Film Festival has massively contributed to the allure of the red carpet. Designer debuts at historic houses, jaw-dropping high-glamour ensembles, and the ability to unite some of the best talent in today's age have contributed to the festival's success.&nbsp;
This year, Venice is celebrating its 83rd edition with a lineup of new cinema releases, such as Danny Boyle's&nbsp;Ink, Alex Gibney's Musk, and Lance Oppenheim's Primetime. Beginning Sept. 2, the 10-day event will bring talents like Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jack O'Connell, and Penélope Cruz to the Lido.
Bucking Fastard, Wild Horse Nine, Bunker, Queer Edward II, Joie de Vivre, and Too Much Sugar are amongst other films that will not just premiere at Venice, but have become anticipated titles in the industry. From intriguing dramas to masterful documentaries, this year's lineup is truly one-of-a-kind.
On the festival's final day, September 12, competition prizes such as the Golden and Silver Lion, Volpi Cups, Special Jury Prize, Golden Osella, and Marcello Mastroianni Award will be given out. Hirokazu Kore-eda (Look Back), Casey Affleck (Company), and Ali Asgari (A Bit of Light) are some talents competing to win an accolade from Venice.
This year, Italian director and filmmaker Luca Guadagnino will receive the Cartier Glory to the Filmmaker Award on Sept. 8. Actors George Clooney and Ellen Burstyn were honored with the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement award on Monday.&nbsp;
"I've had so many extraordinary moments in Venice," the American filmmaker said in his acceptance. "This festival is without question my favorite and to be given the Golden Lion is a tremendous honor. It also probably means I'm old, but I'll take it."
