The beloved book is finally coming to life on the silver screen&mdash;see who's playing your favorite characters.&nbsp;

After the rousing success Netflix's People We Meet On Vacation saw earlier this year, yet another Emily Henry book is in the works for a movie adaptation. This time around, Beach Read is finally making its way to the big screen, much to the delight of fans across the world.&nbsp;
Phoebe Dynevor&mdash;Bridgerton season 1's diamond of the first water, Daphne Bridgerton&mdash;takes on the role of leading lady. Dynevor will portray January Andrews, Beach Read's romance novelist protagonist. Meanwhile, Patrick Schwarzenegger, best known for his portrayal of finance bro Saxon Ratliff in season 3 of White Lotus, has joined the cast as Gus Everett, a literary fiction writer.&nbsp;
Yulin Kuang is still set to adapt and direct&nbsp;Beach Read, as reported by <a href="https://deadline.com/2023/04/20th-century-emily-henrys-beach-read-yulin-kuang-1235318130/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Deadline</a> in 2023. Kuang also co-wrote People We Meet on Vacation.&nbsp;
As longtime fans know, the search for the film's leads started with Andrews. As soon as Dynevor became an option, the movie's leadership knew they had found their January. Kuang described the casting process on her Instagram, and said that finding the perfect Gus to Dynevor's Andrews quickly became a front-and-center priority in the decision.&nbsp;
&ldquo;Patrick is a slow burn, is what I wrote in my notes after meeting him for the first time. There was something about the way he talked about his feelings on love and romance that I couldn&rsquo;t forget. But I was unconvinced we&rsquo;d found our Gus, because I knew we had to be exhaustive in our efforts, given how important this character is to readers,&rdquo; Kuang&nbsp;<a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DXH-K28gdrd/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ%3D%3D" data-type="link" data-id="https://www.instagram.com/p/DXH-K28gdrd/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ%3D%3D" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said on Instagram</a>.
&ldquo;Once we knew Phoebe would be our January, my efforts became more focused and specific &ndash; not on who would play the best Gus according to the text, but who would play the best Gus opposite our specific January,&rdquo; she said. &ldquo;That meant in-person director sessions and chemistry reads with Phoebe. The moment Patrick sat across from her, there was something electric in the room with us. &ldquo;There&rsquo;s magic to chase here,&rdquo; I wrote in my notes afterwards. I checked in with Phoebe after the reads and she said, &ldquo;It&rsquo;s obviously Patrick, isn&rsquo;t it?&rdquo; and I thought to myself, &lsquo;So she feels it too.&rsquo;
A release date for the film and casting decisions on supporting characters have not been announced yet.&nbsp;
