'Sinners' star Michael B. Jordan makes history at the 98th Academy Awards.

The Academy Awards Best Actor is one of entertainment&rsquo;s most anticipated categories, no less during its 98th year.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/men/michael-b-jordan-bottega-veneta-matchstick-sweater-outfit-sinners-movie-press-tour" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Michael B. Jordan</a> took home the title of Best Actor in a Leading Role at the 2026 Oscars for his performance in Warner Brothers&rsquo; Sinners. Fellow nominees included Leonardo DiCaprio in One Battle After Another, Ethan Hawke in Blue Moon, Timoth&eacute;e Chalamet in Marty Supreme, and Wagner Moura in The Secret Agent. While the 39-year-old is no stranger to the highs of Hollywood, this marks Jordan&rsquo;s first ever <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/best-movies-michael-b-jordan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Oscar</a>.&nbsp;
In the film, Jordan played the dual-role of identical twin brothers, Smoke and Stack, where Smoke carried himself as reserved&mdash;a man of few words&mdash;and Stack presenting as the rock. The characters play World War I veterans and Chicago mob enforcers in what folks labeled a career-defining moment for Jordan. All that to say, Stack eventually became one of the vampires throughout the movie, and brothers open a juke joint, warding off vampires, while navigating the woes of white supremacy, fusing Southern Gothic horror with reiterated themes of resistance.
The film, directed by Ryan Coogler, was nominated for 16 Academy Awards, marking the highest number of nominations for a single film in Oscar history, breaking Titanic's previous record of 14 in 1998.
Moreover, the award was presented by last year&rsquo;s winner, Adrien Brody, who played L&aacute;szl&oacute; T&oacute;th, a Hungarian-Jewish architect and Holocaust survivor, in The Brutalist, coming full-circle. While Jordan&rsquo;s name was called, viewers watched him thank God in his acceptance speech, alongside his mother, and additional family members while being met with a standing-ovation from audience members. Not to be forgotten, Jordan dubbed himself honored to call Coogler both a collaborator and friend&mdash;and the opportunity to act in the movie as a whole. Furthermore, Jordan sported a Louis Vuitton suit with three secret, custom brooches by David Yurman, as style was certainly part of Jordan&rsquo;s starlet <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/michael-b-jordan-wife-relationship-girlfriend-history-dating" target="_blank" rel="noopener">success</a> tonight.
