Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis reunite in the highly anticipated sequel to their 2003 hit, Freaky Friday.

In the era of sequels, it's no shock that <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/lindsay-lohan-bustier-ripped-jeans-mtv-vma-awards-freaky-friday-2003" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2003's</a> Freaky Friday is getting its turn in the spotlight. Out August 8, 2025, Freakier Friday stars <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/tags/lindsaylohan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lindsay Lohan</a> and Jamie Lee Curtis, both reprising their roles from the original film.&nbsp;
The <a href="https://youtu.be/r8caetzt02g?si=oiZtzJJSRfWHBJKC">original film</a> followed the lives of Tess (Curtis) and Anna (<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/lindsay-lohan-cameo-mean-girls-movie-musical" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lohan</a>), a mother-daughter duo who don't always see eye to eye on things. When the pair visits a Chinese restaurant and receives mysterious fortunes, their entire lives are changed. They wake up the next morning as each other, having swapped bodies, now forced to live in each other's shoes&mdash;metaphorically and literally. Now forced to masquerade as one another, they must fool everyone in their lives to keep people from finding out, and in doing so, they begin to understand each other now more than ever before.&nbsp;
The Freaky Friday franchise extends further than these two films, though. Based on Mary Rodgers' <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/104711.Freaky_Friday">children's novel</a> of the same name, the story has been adapted four times before, and each time by the Walt Disney Company. The upcoming adaptation breathes new life into the story, complicating the plot as we see a grown-up Anna, now a mother and stepmother to two teenage daughters, and an aging Tess navigating life in a newly blended family. Things take a turn for the worse when Tess, Anna, Anna's daughter Harper (Julia Butters), and Anna's step-daughter Lily (Sophia Hammons) all swap bodies, 22 years after the freakiest Friday of Tess and Anna's lives.&nbsp;

In addition to Curtis and Lohan, other stars from the original film will be returning, including Mark Hamill, 2000s heartthrob Chad Michael Murray, Rosalind Chao, Ryan Malgarini, Lucille Soong, Christina Vidal, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Haley Hudson. Newcomers joining the cast include Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons,&nbsp;Maitreyi Ramakrishnan from Never Have I Ever, Vanessa Bayer, and Manny Jacinto. &nbsp;
