6 Things to Know About Nicola Peltz Beckham
On the actress's 28th birthday, L'OFFICIEL gives a rundown on fun things to know on the Holidate star.
As the daughter of former fashion model Claudia Heffner Peltz, it was only a matter of time before Nicola Peltz Beckham rose to her own respective spotlight. Instead of following in her mother's footsteps, Peltz instead pursued acting. Though her film debut was in a minor role in the 2006 film Deck the Halls, she received her first major acting credit in the 2010 film adaptation of the popular cartoon series Avatar, where she was cast as Katara. Her popularity grew from that point on, though it seemingly skyrocketed in recent years once she started dating Brooklyn Beckham, the oldest son of English soccer player David Beckham and household fashion designer Victoria Beckham.
From having one of the biggest weddings in 2022 to starring in Hulu's limited series Welcome to Chippendales to set to be a writer and co-director for the upcoming film Lola James, Peltz has more than solidified herself as a Hollywood darling. As the Transformers: Age of Extinction star turns 28, L'OFFICIEL rounds up six fun things to know about the actress.
She's the daughter of a billionaire businessman.
Though she married into one of the most well-known families in the world, Peltz is no stranger to living in luxury. She's the daughter of model Claudia Heffner Peltz and Nelson Peltz, a billionaire businessman who sits on the board of several successful businesses and co-founded Trian Fund Management. The lavish venue in which Beckham and Peltz got married took place on one of the many properties Nelson owns.
She's one of eight siblings.
If there's something to know about Peltz, it's that she is extremely family-oriented—something that she has always been open about. She has seven siblings, six brothers and one sister. They include Will, Brad, Matthew, Diesel, Zachary, Gregory, and Brittany. Only one of her siblings also works in acting, Will, while the rest enjoy their lives outside of the limelight.
She made an appearance in Miley Cyrus's 2008 "7 Things" music video.
Before she was Katara from Avatar or Tessa Yeager from Transformers: Age of Extinction, she was a heartbroken girl featured in Miley Cyrus's 2008 "7 Things" music video. Reminiscing about that moment, in a 2016 interview with Teen Vogue Peltz said that she "was like a different human." The actress also acted in Zayn Malik's 2016 "It's You" music video.
She doesn't have a driver's license.
Like a true native New Yorker, Peltz prefers to stay away from behind the wheel (even though she technically grew up slightly outside of NYC). In an interview with Grazia, the actress expressed how Beckham would drive her to the Welcome to Chippendales set every day.
“I don’t have a license; I’m a really terrible driver,” Peltz told Grazia. “If he was working, he would come bring me lunch and then we’d eat lunch together. He would pick me up and everyone on set was like, ‘Wow, you really have a great husband.’ I feel like I’m really lucky to have him and his support.”
She's in support of having a big family.
As someone that grew up in a big family, it should come as no surprise that Peltz is in full support of raising a huge family of her own. In an exclusive with Entertainment Tonight, Beckham expressed how he would love to have 10 kids, to which Peltz responded with nothing but support. "That is really sweet," she told Entertainment Tonight. "We really do want a big family. We want to have some of our own kids and then we really want to adopt kids too."
She knows how to play ice hockey.
Though she has a famous model for a mom and a wealthy businessman for a dad, Peltz's upbringing was like that of most people who grew up in suburban America. One of the biggest fun facts about the actress is that she grew up playing ice hockey, a sport that all of her brothers also know how to play. "I grew up playing ice hockey and was a bit of a tomboy," she said in an interview with Vogue Hong Kong.
