Ahead of the Adults season two premiere at Tribeca, Owen Thiele opens up about getting ready for the red carpet, Valentino fashion, dream podcast guests, and the internet crossovers.

“I am looking to get into silent films. I need to shut up. I think that would be best for all of us,” Owen Thiele says when asked about what comes next.For now, though, Adults has just premiered its second season at the Tribeca Film Festival, where the actor, comedian, and podcast host is stepping into a major New York moment, as the ensemble cast—including Malik Elassal, Lucy Freyer, Jack Innanen, and Amita Rao—returns for season two.
L’OFFICIEL joined Thiele while he got ready for the red carpet, where fashion, nerves, and internet-fueled crossover ideas all surfaced. He reflected on the feeling of seeing himself on screen, the Valentino look selected by his stylist—and boyfriend—Jared Ellner, who also works with Sabrina Carpenter and Emma Chamberlain.
He spoke about dream podcast guests, favorite memories from set, and his enthusiasm for an&nbsp;Adults and Overcompensating crossover—two shows he’s currently part of, which led us to ask: would Anton and George actually get along if they ever met? Keep scrolling for the full interview.&nbsp;

L'OFFICIEL: Adults&nbsp;is premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival. What does it feel like to have the show debut on such a massive platform? How do you prepare for a major premiere like this, both physically and mentally?
OWEN THIELE: I frankly have to disassociate. I can’t think of anyone watching me onscreen. I start to shake…which is funny because I constantly am staring at myself in the mirror. My selfie folder has like 18,000 pics. It’s so dark. Luckily, I have the best glam team to make me look presentable. You should see what I look like before they touch my face and hair…that’s&nbsp;actually dark.&nbsp;
L'O: When it comes to fashion, what is the process of putting together your look for this? Did you have any references when creating this look?&nbsp;
OT: This look is loosely inspired by Despicable Me. I just loved the film, it’s a cinema classic, and I really wanted to bring it to life tonight. I’m joking. It’s a gorgeous Valentino suit that I’m lucky to even touch. I love Valentino. Soooo cute. And to be honest, I did nothing for it. Jared Ellner (my stylist…who I pay…even though he’s my boyfriend…I’m not kidding…) picked this look. He has a brilliant mind.&nbsp;

L'O: The internet seems to be rooting for an Adults × Overcompensating crossover. What are your thoughts on that? Could you ever see those worlds colliding? And do you think Anton and George would actually get along?
OT: I’m with the internet on this one. Let’s do it. I grew up watching Disney Channel and That’s So Suite Life of Hannah Montana was just thrilling. I think Anton would really like George, and I think George would tolerate Anton. Anton’s bad on his phone, he can’t respond to all of these texts (his neighbor, the local librarian, that esthetician he met on the subway that one time) so how would they even coordinate a meet up?
L'O: Looking back on filming&nbsp;Adults, what’s one of your favorite memories from set?
OT: Getting the opportunity to shoot with comedy legends like Susie Essman and Raven Symoné. I am still replaying those moments.&nbsp;

L'O: You host the podcast&nbsp;In Your Dreams&nbsp;and have welcomed guests ranging from Kendall Jenner to Connor Storrie. Do you have an ultimate dream guest—living or dead—who you think would be perfect for the format?
OT: I say this always, but Taylor Swift or Sabrina Carpenter. But I love them dearly as people and never want to put pressure…even though this is a little bit of pressure…hey, you guys, let’s take the pressure OFF!&nbsp;
L'O: You have several exciting projects on the horizon, including A24’s&nbsp;Peaked&nbsp;and your own series,&nbsp;Off Color. Is there a genre you haven’t explored yet that you feel drawn to? And do you find yourself preferring television or film as a creative medium?
OT: I am looking to get into silent films. I need to shut up. I think that would be best for all of us. And, plus, I did love The Artist.
