Ryan Murphy's New Show Features Largest Cast of Transgender Actors

Pose reflects the 1980s New York dance and ball culture scene.

Ryan Murphy, we're expecting a lot of voguing from this new series. The American Horror Story and Glee creator makes history with Pose, a documentary-like TV drama based on the late '80s underground ballroom culture, which looks a lot like a reboot of Paris is Burning. With five transgender actors, Pose will have the largest trans cast in series-regular roles. 

"We're past an era of straight men playing these roles. It's time to think differently and offer more opportunities to people who want to work. Many of this cast have never been in front of the camera before," said Murphy to The Hollywood Reporter

The new TV show also stars Evan Peters, Kate Mara, and Dawson's Creek actor James Van Der Beek.
