The singer pens new song for the star-studded adaptation of the fantasy novel.  

A Wrinkle in Time director Ava DuVernay <a href="https://twitter.com/ava/status/966004518960881665">announced today</a> that the film&rsquo;s soundtrack will feature an original song by R&amp;B icon Sade, whose latest release was her 2010 grammy-winning album Soldier of Love. The adventure film will introduce the &#39;80s queen to a new generation, who may not have heard the magic of the &ldquo;Smooth Operator.&rdquo;

&ldquo;I never thought she&rsquo;d say yes, but asked anyway,&rdquo; DuVernay said on Twitter. &ldquo;And it&rsquo;s a dream come true.&rdquo;

With a song title like &ldquo;Flower of the Universe,&rdquo; we&rsquo;re sure it is.

A Wrinkle in Time, out March 9, stars Oprah Winfrey, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine, and Reese Witherspoon.
