Saturdays are often set aside for rituals. Whether it be catching up with friends over a boozy brunch or taking a rare morning jog through Central Park, it's a day that pales in comparison to the mundanity and stress of every Monday–Friday and offers sweet (albeit temporary) refuge from the Sunday Scaries. But no matter how you choose to spend the majority of your Saturday, you can always count on one ritual, in particular, come 11:30 PM: Saturday Night Live.
For over 43 seasons, the iconic NBC variety show has yet to disappoint audiences around the country, implementing excellent taste in choosing each celebrity host and accompanying music act. While January saw the return of SNL alum Will Ferrel, (which prompted a much-needed boost in ratings) it's the first episode for February that we're most excited about.
Set to host for the second time is Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman, who previously graced the Studio 8H set back in 2006 (See 'Natalie Raps'). Her latest film, the sci-fi mystery flick Annihilation, will premiere in theaters February 23, and if this trailer for the episode is any indication, we'll be sure to see some hilariously dramatic renditions of its otherwise serious subject matter.
The fact that the sensational Dua Lipa will be making her SNL musical guest debut that same week is just the cherry on top of a must-watch episode. Might we be blessed with a show-stopping duet of her hit "New Rules?" A rendition of "Homesick," her track with Coldplay's Chris Martin, would also certainly prove her powerhouse vocals. We'll certainly be watching on February 3 to find out.
