New episodes of the Black Mirror hit Netflix today, and critics are calling it the most twisted season yet.
The anthology series, created by writer Charlie Brooker, is known for holding a mirror up to society and showing us its dystopian future. The fourth set of instalments look like they'll continue that trend; the episodes see characters using a dating app that eerily predicts how long their relationships will last, and a protective mother planting a tracking device in her child.
The esoteric British TV show, created by comic and writer Charlie Brooker, was bought by Netflix back in 2013. Since then the streaming service has launched two seasons that have been well received by critics and fans alike.
"If there’s any festive spirit left lingering, then this will knock it right out of you. Black Mirror is darker than it has ever been," The Guardian critic Rebecca Nicholson said, while Tristram Fane Saunders from The Daily Telegraph dubbed the first episode in the series "sharp [and] topical".
