Though there was one line that stood out in particular, and it did not take long for the internet to put the pieces together: the lines, and likely the whole post, were a direct jab at Ethel Cain.&nbsp; The lyrics go "Ethel Cain hated my Instagram post / Think it's cute reenacting my Chicago pose." Lana Del Rey sparked dating rumors in 2022 when she posted a now-deleted photo with Jack Donoghue of the music group Salem. The picture shows Lana and Donoghue posing outside the Cook County Jail in Chicago. After their split, Ethel Cain reportedly dated Donoghue and posted a similar photo alongside him, with the caption, "ok wait my turn." The post has also been deleted, but it's a bit of an eyebrow-raiser, as Cain has allegedly been a long-time fan of Lana's.
Her aesthetic has often been compared to the hit singer's, but that is clearly not the only thing the two have in common. Though one notable name is getting left off the credits, and that is Swift's long-time collaborator, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/margaret-qualley-and-jack-antonoff-relationship-timeline-married" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jack Antonoff</a>. Lana tagged the songwriter and producer in her recent video, and captioned the post "Track 13."
This has Swift's fans up in arms, as 13 is known to be her lucky number, and between Lana's caption and Antonoff's tag, they believe it's a covert diss at the "Blank Space" singer. Nothing is confirmed, but the timing between Taylor's news and Lana's album tease is definitely interesting. Lana's new album was initially going to be released in May, but it has been postponed, and we are left wondering: Is it dropping in October?
