Get ready to return to Camp Rock. Disney has officially confirmed that Camp Rock 3 is in the works, more than a decade after the franchise cemented itself as a pop-culture phenomenon. The Jonas Brothers are set to reprise their roles, marking their long-awaited return to the musical camp that launched them into movie stardom.
Perhaps the biggest surprise is Demi Lovato&rsquo;s role in the project. While fans will forever associate Lovato with her character Mitchie Torres, Lovato has signed on as an executive producer for the third installment. However, at this stage, they have not been confirmed to reprise their on-screen role.
The first Camp Rock debuted in 2008, followed by Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam in 2010, both of which helped launch the careers of its cast into the mainstream. Rumors of a Camp Rock 3 movie first started circulating on the opening night of the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/nick-jonas-style-evolution" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jonas Brothers&rsquo;</a> "JONAS 20: Greetings from Your Hometown Tour," where fans were treated to a dose of Disney Channel nostalgia when Demi Lovato joined the brothers on stage for a surprise performance. Together, Lovato and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/joe-jonas-girlfriends-wife-dating-history-taylor-swift-sophie-turner-" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Jonas</a> sang their iconic duet, &ldquo;Wouldn&rsquo;t Change a Thing&rdquo; from Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, sending the crowd&mdash;and the internet&mdash;back to the best memories from childhood.&nbsp;

Lovato and Joe Jonas famously dated during the Camp Rock era, but the connection extended far beyond romance. Lovato was close with all three brothers&mdash;Nick, Joe, and Kevin&mdash;during their <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/stars-you-forgot-were-on-disney-channel" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Disney Channel</a> heyday. In the years that followed, however, personal struggles, including Lovato&rsquo;s public battle with addiction, led to a drifting apart. Over time, though, it appears the group managed to rebuild their friendship, and this recent onstage reunion and official confirmation of the third movie prove as such.
Plot details for the new movie remain under wraps, but with the Jonas Brothers returning to camp and Lovato shaping the film creatively, the nostalgia factor is undeniable. For longtime fans, the announcement offers both a dose of childhood memories and a fresh perspective on how the story might evolve for a new generation.
