Anne Hathaway turns 43 today. L'OFFICIEL&nbsp;looks back at the actress's most iconic moments.

Born in Brooklyn and raised in Millburn, New Jersey, Anne Hathaway had an interest in acting from a very young age, having acted in plays in high school until her first real acting job in the television series Get Real&nbsp;(1999). The star is named after Shakespeare's wife, Anne, and grew up the daughter of actress Kate McCauley Hathaway, so her interest in performing came as no surprise.&nbsp; Soon enough, she made her breakthrough in The Princess Diaries&nbsp;(2001) and became a staple in family films in the early 2000s, like Ella Enchanted&nbsp;(2004) and her breakthrough's sequel, The Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement&nbsp;(2004).&nbsp;
The&nbsp;Princess Diaries&nbsp;actress made her transition to more mature roles in 2005 with Brokeback Mountain,&nbsp;and in 2006, she reached her biggest success up until that point with The Devil Wears Prada.&nbsp;In 2008, she played a recovering addict in&nbsp;Rachel Getting Married, for which she received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress. Hathaway is also known for Get Smart&nbsp;(2008), Bride Wars&nbsp;(2009),&nbsp;Valentine's Day&nbsp;(2010),&nbsp;Love and Other Drugs (2010), and&nbsp;Alice in Wonderland&nbsp;(2010). In 2012, she starred as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises&nbsp;and acted as Fantine in&nbsp;Les Mis&eacute;rables,&nbsp;for which she earned an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.&nbsp;
Since then, Hathaway has acted in films such as&nbsp;Interstellar&nbsp;(2014), The Intern&nbsp;(2015),&nbsp;Ocean's 8&nbsp;(2018), and&nbsp;The Hustle&nbsp;(2019). Last year, she acted in The Idea of You&nbsp;(2024) opposite Red, White, and Royal Blue&nbsp;star Nicholas Galitzine.&nbsp;
This year, Hathaway was confirmed to appear in David Lowery's&nbsp;Mother Mary&nbsp;alongside Michaela Coel. She will also reunite with Christopher Nolan and act in his adaptation of The Odyssey,&nbsp;and will star in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's novel,&nbsp;Verity.&nbsp;In June of this year, Hathaway began filming&nbsp;The Devil Wears Prada 2, reprising her iconic role as Andrea Sachs, which is set to release in May 2026.&nbsp;
Today, the&nbsp;Ella Enchanted&nbsp;star turns 43, and her impact in Hollywood is undeniable.
