Valentino&rsquo;s Madison Avenue boutique transforms into a sonic escape with L&rsquo;Atelier Sonore&mdash;a sound-forward installation blending music, architecture, and quiet reflection.

On May 15th, Maison <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/valentino-fall-winter-2025-collection" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Valentino</a> unveiled L&rsquo;Atelier Sonore, a blend of sound and space nestled in the mezzanine of its Madison Avenue boutique. In collaboration with Italian cultural collective Terraforma, the brand transformed its store into an immersive listening room&mdash;offering New Yorkers a rare pocket of calm amid the chaos.
Conceived under Creative Director <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/valentino-haute-couture-spring-summer-2025-alessandro-michele" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alessandro Michele&rsquo;s</a> evolving vision for the house, the installation is part sonic retreat, part architectural sculpture. The experience invites visitors to step into a softened soundscape crafted by Giorgio Di Salvo, with spatial design by architect Francesco Lupia, where every note&mdash;and silence&mdash;is intentional.
The launch featured a 10-hour program celebrating the richness of New York&rsquo;s experimental music scene. From afternoon to midnight, artists like Laraaji, Laurel Halo, Chuquimamani-Condori, and Veronica Vasicka held 45-minute sessions, sharing records and reflections in an environment that felt meditative rather than performative. Between sets, a curated Terraforma playlist filled the space, echoing the event&rsquo;s slower, more sensory pace.

The cocktail hour drew a well-dressed guest list, with creatives like Alyssa Coscarelli, Selah Marley, and Coco Mellors among those in attendance. <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/pfw-alessandro-michele-returns-to-valentino-spring-summer-2025-show" target="_blank" rel="noopener">All wore Valentino</a>, of course.
Open to the public through August, L&rsquo;Atelier Sonore continues daily as a quiet invitation to pause, listen, and lose track of time&mdash;an unexpected offering from a fashion house increasingly interested in slowing things down. On select days, friends of the brand will host intimate sessions, spinning from their own collections. Think of it as couture for the ears.
