Briston: A Timepiece with a Timeless Feel

The new Clubmaster Iconic Open Briston has a British chic, blending a modern aesthetic, a vintage tinge, and an authentic watchmaking approach.
Reading time 2 minutes

Rising watchmaker Briston finds inspiration in thinking hubs, such as England's Oxford and Cambridge and the northeastern United States' upscale Ivy League universities. The company assures a timeless, laid-back style, expressing this in the Clubmaster collection, which now has a new member: the Clubmaster Iconic Open model.

The watch's personality resides first in its quickly identifiable form, namely a square box with an arch or cushion, borrowed from the Roaring '20s. With a size of 40 x 40 millimeters, it comes in polished steel or tortoiseshell acetate, a material that highlights the model's vintage feel. The model uses 70% cotton fibers and flowers, natural materials that craft a traditional look.

Timeless Aesthetics

The case's transparent bottom allows viewers to admire the NH38A automatic movement. Manufactured by Seiko, it has an oscillating weight with Côte de Genève decoration.

The dial, which comes in silvery white or semi-gloss black, offers easy reading thanks to polished rhodium-plated hands, a dauphine style, hours and minutes, as well as polished, arrow-shaped indexes. The central second hand is blue steel.

The dial also includes a double index at 12 o'clock and small lines indicating the minutes, which are white or black depending on the colorway. The opening on the balance at 9 o'clock contributes to the model's horological dimension while reinforcing the elegance of the lines. Finally, the watch is mounted on a two-strand, interchangeable strap in matte black, chocolate brown, or gray vintage leather, all neutral tones that match the watch's timeless aesthetic.
