Calling all art collectors, aficionados, and enthusiasts: explore some of this year's buzziest booths and exhibitions at Art Basel Paris.

For its fifth year, Art Basel Paris will bring together 211 leading international galleries, including 64 exhibitors with spaces in France. Led by new director Karim Crippa, the City of Lights will play an essential role in the event, as the fair reflects the depth of its gallery ecosystem and extends its presence into the city’s museums, institutions, public spaces, and creative communities.

Organized into three sectors—Galeries, Emergence, and Premise—here are the exhibitions to add to your must-view list at the Grand Palais.

Alice Diop x Miu Miu: Healing Through the Gaze

In her first curatorial experience here, Alice Diop’s Geste de consolation interrogates the ways in which Black women have been represented and fetishized throughout art history. She transforms the space into a portal for cinema, photography, sculpture, poetry, dance, and music to intermingle and attempt to answer the question of how contemporary art can serve as reparation. This follows her short film Fragments for Venus, which was directed in 2025 for the Miu Miu Women’s Tales series.

Louis Vuitton’s Art Basel Stand Spotlights Artist Collaboration

There is always something special at the Louis Vuitton booth. This year the Maison’s booth features artworks by Yayoi Kusama, Henry Taylor’s “A Young Master,” 2017, Kennedy Yanko’s “Because of its blues” sculpture, Alex Israel’s 2019 work “Cut-Out-Fin (Golden Hour),” and Yayoi Kusama’s “Great Giant Pumpkin,” 2023.
There are also pieces merging fine art with fashion such as Frank Gehry’s fish-shaped lamps and Artycapucines handbag design, Billie Zangewa’s “Soldier of Love,” 2020, and her Artycapucines bag, Sam Falls’s “Western Wind,” 2025, and his Artycapucines handbag, Takashi Murakami’s 2008 work “Monogramouflage Skull (Black)” and his Artycapucines handbag, and Artycapucines handbags by Urs Fischer and Tschabalala Self.

Moka Lee: The Surface Tension of Our Digitized Selves

South Korean painter Moka Lee is making her debut on French soil with a standout solo booth at Carlos/Ishikawa spotlighting The Surface Tension of Our Digital Selves, a work that transforms casual Instagram posts and social media snapshots of strangers into large-scale oil-on-cotton portraits and still lifes.
A classically trained artist featured in Forbes Korea 30 Under 30 and newly represented in the US by David Kordansky, Lee takes ephemeral semiotics we are accustomed to seeing on social media—anonymous faces, coquettish pouts, doe-eyed gazes, dewy complexions, lustrous hair, or extended peace signs—and renders them immortal through oil. Her work epitomizes the “surface tension” of our defining the self through modernity, namely the crux between technological innovation and personal concealment.

Tracey Emin: The Resilient Body Confronting History

Dame Tracey Emin’s rendezvous with Art Basel Paris this year takes the form of a monumental bronze triptych comprising three major works: I lay here for you, I Followed You to the End, and I Will Not Be Alone. Presented in the Parvis des Droits de l’Homme, the work builds on themes we have come to admire from the British artist. The artist, known for her autobiographical twist, continues to challenge conceptions of the female experience. Here, her paintings serve as a physical and emotional voyage through grief, longing, and strength.

Drake Carr: From Compulsive Sketching to Wooden Sculpture

At the Mariposa gallery booth, New York artist Drake Carr brings a series of ten painted cut-out wooden silhouettes across the Atlantic. While Carr is a self-taught artist adept at producing over 150 drawings in a mere two weeks of residency, this project took over two years. We are excited to see what emerges out of this longer development process.
Known for his live portrait sessions between New York, Los Angeles, and Paris, this showing follows Carr’s recent collaboration with Versace to sign the large-scale drawing Love Theme 4:55 for the Versace Embodied campaign, bringing to mind fashion illustrations by late Interview collaborator Antonio Lopez.

Dover Street Market Paris boasts eighteen exhibitions during the Art Basel fair. The programming largely centers on publishing and art photography. For example, revisiting a Y2K-era moment and also focusing on contemporary issues, IDEA Publishing is launching both “KATE BY MARC,” a book that explores Marc Quinn’s famous Kate Moss sculptures from the mid-2000s, and “QUILADEL-PHIA,” photographer Quil Lemons’ debut book exploring Black masculinity with vulnerability through a decade of photographs.
For art photography and book lovers, a detour spent emerging from the glass-domed Grand Palais, venturing past the Petit Palais and Théâtre du Rond-Point, heading along the Place de la Concorde and Jardin des Tuileries, passing through the grand courtyards of the Louvre Museum and the architectural marvel of the Tour Saint-Jacques and Hôtel de Ville, and alas entering the Marais, may be a worthwhile outing.
