Ahead of her appearance at one of the week's most anticipated shows, L'OFFICIEL caught up with the actress to talk style, beauty, and the projects she's debuting next.&nbsp;&nbsp;

When it comes to Haute Couture, few can compete with Chanel. For the true fashion obsessive, each collection is brimming with new sources of inspiration, a vibrant sense of storytelling, and, of course, plenty of awe-inspiring ensembles. For Ananya Panday—one of India's most beloved young actors (currently starring in the smash-hit show Call Me Bae), a newly appointed Chanel ambassador, and a sartorial star in her own right—a front row seat at <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/chanel-haute-couture-fall-winter-2026-runway-photos-see-all-the-looks-review-celebrities-front-row" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Matthieu Blazy's sophomore haute couture show</a> was a dream come true.
For the occasion, Panday sported an elegant denim ensemble, complete with a speckled black-and-white clutch, Chanel's iconic cap-toe heels, and an ultra-chic updo, bringing her sophisticated style to the star-studded front row.&nbsp;
Beyond taking in some truly showstopping fashion, the glamorous day spent at the Grand Palais also prompted some musings on Panday's own relationship with fashion.&nbsp;
"Over the years, I've realized that fashion shares a lot of DNA with acting. Just like embodying a character on set, putting on an outfit is a form of expression," Panday tells L'OFFICIEL. "It allows me to reflect my changing moods every day, and that playful, transformative relationship with clothes is something I love more and more."

L’OFFICIEL:&nbsp;From getting ready on set and curating your own wardrobe, to your upbringing with your mother (a costume designer and fashion entrepreneur), how would you describe your relationship to fashion? Has it changed at all over the years?
ANANYA PANDAY: Growing up, I was always surrounded by influential fashion, which is a beautiful privilege. I’m grateful that I was able to navigate that and discover a personal style that feels entirely true to who I am.
Over the years, I've realized that fashion shares a lot of DNA with acting. Just like embodying a character on set, putting on an outfit is a form of expression. It allows me to reflect my changing moods every day, and that playful, transformative relationship with clothes is something I love more and more.
L’O: Who are some of your biggest style inspirations, whether they're designers, celebrities, or people in your own life?
AP: All the women in my life! I’m incredibly lucky to have grown up around women with such distinct and strong voices, especially when it comes to fashion. My paternal grandmother had the most eclectic mix and match pieces in her wardrobes—chunky heels, silver jewellery, kaftans. And now with my younger sister, I love seeing her sense of play with fashion; it keeps me on my toes.

L’O:&nbsp;Do you have any non-negotiable beauty or skincare products you always include in your routine?
AP: For me, hydration and thorough skin prep are completely non-negotiable. Makeup only sits beautifully if your skin is well-cared for. My go-to is the Chanel Hydra Beauty range—it instantly moisturizes, plumps, and revives my skin.
L’O: Every It girl has her signature. What’s the one thing you do, wear, or swear by that makes people go, “Yep, that’s so you”?
AP: You know, it’s the juxtaposition of being completely dressed up but keeping it minimal with makeup, messy hair, or just a very easygoing attitude. People know that even in couture, I'm probably still the girl who just wants to be comfortable and have a good laugh. That’s my signature.

L’O: Are there any genres, filmmakers, or fellow actors you’d like to work with in the future?
AP: I’m eager to explore genres I haven't fully dived into yet—like a gritty psychological thriller or a horror film. More than a specific list, I'm drawn to filmmakers who are passionate about character-driven storytelling and pushing boundaries. I just want to keep putting myself in rooms where I can learn, evolve, and be challenged.
L’O:&nbsp;Looking ahead, what excites you most about where your career is headed right now?
AP: The opportunity to portray complex, multi-dimensional women. From Call Me Bae to Kesari Chapter 2, and looking forward into the future, I’m incredibly excited by narratives that center on formidable women who make a real impact—whether that's navigating the complexities of modern-day life or looking at historical contexts. Getting to step into the shoes of characters who have a strong voice, mission, and motive is exactly what drives me as an actor right now.
