For its 85th anniversary, Coach revisits its signatures under the eye of Stuart Vevers, leaning on sharp tailoring, patinated leather, reused pieces, and festive whimsy.

In New York, <a href="https://www.lofficiel.com/fashion-week/chez-coach-l-amerique-au-dela-des-frontieres" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Coach</a> is celebrating its 85th anniversary without succumbing to nostalgia. For Spring/Summer 2027, Stuart Vevers draws on the brand's history to transform it. "I didn't want to create a retrospective," explains the Artistic Director, who subverts <a href="https://www.lofficiel.com/industry-trends/coach-deploie-son-heritage-mode-au-coeur-des-sims-tm-4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Coach</a>'s familiar codes, reveals their structure, and deliberately leaves traces of a celebration. It's a way of creating a dialogue between past and future rather than freezing the legacy.
The collection revisits several signature pieces that have shaped Vevers' vision: the trench coat, leather jacket, tuxedo, bias-cut dress, and western boots. Tailoring is precise, with clean shoulders, narrow sleeves, and trousers slightly gathered at the ankle. This rigor is accompanied by street and countercultural references, tempered by a refined elegance.
The "inside-out" aesthetic appears in coats, blazers, and trench coats, whose linings and internal structure become visible. Supple nappa leather sits alongside heavy jersey with faded effects, evoking the softness of an old hoodie. Dresses and skirts cut on the bias extend this fluid line in a variety of materials—repurposed linings, georgette, secondhand denim, lamé, or sequins—while raw edges, exposed facings, and topstitching emphasize the handcrafted touch.
The palette begins with shades of gray, brown, black, white, and natural leather before brightening with periwinkle, powder pink, mint green, and metallic highlights. Evening is everywhere, never confined: sequins, shimmering surfaces, and flowing dresses accompany both day and night.

The anniversary reads like a memory of a celebration already passed. Gold and silver metallic leaves rubbed on leather, confetti embedded in bags and shoes, glitter mixed with red nail polish: the finishes seem to bear the mark of time and the hand. Crowns, pointed hats, bows, gifts, and birthday cards, in turn, become leather objects, treated with the same care as the House's iconic pieces.
Reuse is a natural element in this reflection on memory. Second-hand leathers and denims are reworked, vintage linings reappear in "inside-out" silhouettes, and vintage <a href="https://www.lofficiel.com/fashion/le-nouveau-chapitre-de-coach" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Coach</a> pouches are assembled to create new bags. Leather goods also celebrate this heritage with the new Turnlock Tote, inspired by a 1970s model and the clasp designed by Bonnie Cashin, while the Inside-Out Brooklyn and the Collaged Tabby revisit more recent designs.
Right down to the accessories, the collection cultivates this poetry of memory: the Hudson sneaker is inspired by '70s-era tennis looks, a soft western boot affirms one of Coach's codes, while crystal pendants, knot brooches, crowns, and everyday objects transformed into accessories extend the festive spirit.
