For his sophomore showing, creative director Jonathan Anderson brought classic materials and traditional techniques to life.

In the past two weeks, Jonathan Anderson has continued to show the fashion industry why he is one of the greatest fashion designers of our time. From a dance-worthy menswear collection during Paris Fashion Week to surprising the world that he created Taylor Swift's wedding dress this past weekend, the Northern Irish creative is truly a one-of-a-kind talent, and his latest collection proves that.
On the first day of the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/fall-winter-2026-haute-couture-calendar-paris-show-dates-times-chanel-dior-schiaparelli-fendi" target="_blank" style="font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Open Sans', 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif; background-color: oklch(1 0 242); font-size: 14.0625px; font-weight: 400;" rel="noopener">Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2026</a>&nbsp;week, Dior took its 66 creations to the halls of the&nbsp;Musée Rodin. Covered in palm leaves, foliage, and a whole lot of greenery, the mirrored venue was perfectly paired with black fans that invited attendees were given by the house before the show.
With American sculptor Lynda Benglis as the main source of inspiration this season, Anderson paid close attention to the visual artist's use of form, materiality, and movement for the collection. Indian craftsmanship in 18th-century chintz tradition, the "couture laboratory" concept, and a balance between Parisian abundance and Santa Fe's climate also served as points of reference. Fairy-tale styles, cutesy embellishments, and modern reinterpretations of house codes are crucial to Anderson's Dior, and this showing was nothing short of that.

Model Laura Kaiser opened the show by wearing a striped gold swoop hat with fishnet detailing, a cream button-up shirt with a flared-out collar and sleeves, a pleated gray cocoon wrap coat that featured a bow at the center of the torso, a white Petit Dîner clutch with leaf detailing, black pleated pants, and a pair of gold pumps. Just within this look itself, the use of different materials, textures, and silhouettes makes it a standout ensemble.
The use of pleating led the majority of looks in the show, especially in the iconic Bar jacket silhouette and decadent dresses. However, the real star of the show was the embellishments, both subtle and loud. From the sprinkle of florals throughout eveningwear and accessories to the dramatic yet cheeky details that decorated light blue fan-like elements on dresses, the eye is truly in the detail of many looks. Later in the collection, Benglis's use of different materials was honored through different fabrics and finishes that created colorful skirts ready to make a statement.
As thick knits, sheer dresses, and different textured dresses rounded out the collection, model Kaja Krawcyzk closed the show in a bridal gown that featured a multitude of leaf shapes both in and hanging from the garment. Is this the exact dress Swift wore to her Fourth of July wedding? We aren't quite sure. However, fans suspect that the dress is "very her" and could be something similar. The finale proved that the show was a hit for Anderson, especially as it contributed to his highly successful streak of innovative yet house-honoring collections.

Guests of the show consisted of friends of the house, which included Sabrina Carpenter, Ethel Cain, Josh O'Connor, Parker Posey, Ejae, Baz Luhrmann, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh Williams, Vera Wang, Alexa Chung, Inde Navarrette, Ella Bright, Naomi Watts, and Ever Anderson, amongst others.
Sure, one tends to think that summer-esque details like green leaves, crisp datura flowers, and shiny metallics are only meant for a certain season. Anderson believes the opposite; he knows that some drama in the cold easily provides some warmth to one's spirit. The creative director wants you to welcome in the fun this season, and in this moment, we are immediately on board with this decision.
