New York Fashion Week is almost here, and we can't wait to watch the Spring/Summer 2027 collections debut next month.
In an industry that can quickly become oversaturated with a flood of designs, brands, and events, it's easy to lose track of everything that's going on. The designers successfully breaking through the noise are remaining true to their creative spirit, will not compromise on their values, and are not afraid to push the envelope with ingenious designs that transform what we think the norms of fashion should be.&nbsp;
To be sure, the calendar is clad with countless icons and industry titans, but if you're looking for fresh perspectives in the fashion world, these are the designers&nbsp;and shows that&nbsp;you need on your radar this season.&nbsp;

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Conner Ives</h3>

The New York-born, London-based designer, Conner Ives, is making his New York Fashion Week debut this year. His eponymous brand offers Ives' vision for a new Americana, and he wants to answer the question of how we can make smarter, more responsible clothes. While still a student at Central Saint Martins London, he dressed model Adwoa Aboah for the 2017 Met Gala, which launched his career in fashion. It also got him recognized by Rihanna.&nbsp;
Not afraid to use his platform to advocate for trans rights, one of Ives' most talked-about designs was his 'Protect the Dolls' T-Shirt, which first premiered in his Fall/Winter 2025 runway show. The shirt went viral and was later seen on Tate McRae, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/pedro-pascal-protect-the-dolls-shirt-thunderbolts-premiere">Pedro Pascal</a>, and Troye Sivan. Ives donated most of the proceeds from the sale to Trans Lifeline, a crisis hotline. Conner Ives is a breath of fresh air in the fashion world, appealing especially to a Gen Z audience thanks to his focus on upcycling deadstock and vintage garments throughout the brand's sustainable designs.&nbsp;

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Bad Binch TongTong</h3>

The avant-garde dreams of designer and 2026 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist, Terrence Zhou, are made a reality in any of Bad Binch TongTong's theatrical runway shows. Spiders, mermaids with tails of silk, an all-black octopus—anything is possible in the Bad Binch TongTong universe.&nbsp;
Founded in 2021, the brand has become a viral sensation for its surrealist and eccentric approach to fashion, transforming its designs into wearable sculptures, performance art, and even existential memes. Bad Binch TongTong's voluminous, three-dimensional creations have been worn by none other than Kim Kardashian, SZA, Lizzo, Kris Jenner, Eileen Gu, and Karlie Kloss.&nbsp;

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Rachel Comey</h3>

This year, independent designer Rachel Comey is celebrating her 25th anniversary at New York Fashion Week. The brand debuted in the early 2000s as a menswear line, before shifting to womenswear, and Comey first got her start in the art world as a sculptor.&nbsp;
Known for its artful, modern silhouettes, footwear, and custom textiles, Rachel Comey garments are meant to last a lifetime, rather than only keeping up with what's trending. Favored by devoted customers like Michelle Obama, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Tracee Ellis Ross, Rachel Comey is for women who want to channel glamour, intelligence, and creativity in their wardrobe.&nbsp;

The celebrity-loved, Los Angeles-based brand <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/men/cult-gaia-mens-spring-2026-collection-launch-debut">Cult Gaia</a> is returning to New York Fashion Week after its debut Fall/Winter 2026 show in February, rooted in designer Jasmin Larian Hekmat's Persian heritage. She says that Cult Gaia designs should make you look twice.&nbsp;
A newcomer to the runway but not to the industry, Cult Gaia has been around since 2012. The brand is known for its architectural-inspired statement accessories—especially the bamboo Ark bag—as well as a ready-to-wear line of heirloom pieces that transforms fashion into art. Stars like Selena Gomez, Hailey Bieber, and Jennifer Lopez have all been seen wearing the brand.&nbsp;

After <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/henry-zankov-diane-von-furstenberg-artistic-director-fashion-news">Henry Zankov</a> was named Diane von Furstenberg’s New Artistic Director in May, the fashion world has been eagerly waiting to see his debut collection at New York Fashion Week this September. Bringing a new voice and perspective to DVF, Zankov is known for his bold use of colors, patterns, and textures. But this isn't his first time working with&nbsp;the iconic fashion house. He first joined DVF in 2014 and spent four years there before launching his namesake label in 2020.&nbsp;
His knitwear label, Zankov, has since developed a cult following—worn by stars like Mark Ruffalo, Gabrielle Union, and Laverne Cox—and earned him the CFDA American Emerging Designer of the Year Award in 2024. Looking back to last year, Zankov's collaboration with Diane Von Furstenberg yielded a collection that celebrated vivid prints, spirited colors from fuchsia to baby blue, and sumptuous textures like chiffon, silk, satin, and cashmere. Looking back at this exclusive capsule collection may be a glimpse of what is to come on the runways next month from Zankov.&nbsp;
