Five years after an abrupt exit from Lanvin, designer Alber Elbaz unveils a new fashion brand, AZ Factory. The label, a joint operation with luxury conglomerate Richemont, defines itself as one that uses technology and innovation to create luxury fashion for everyone.

According to the brand, AZ Factory is "built around the core ideas of love, trust, and respect. We speak to our clients as we do with friends." The designer and label also invite people to follow along its journey through Alber & Amigos, a consumer experience program.

In 2015, after 14 years as Lanvin's creative director, Elbaz shared a letter that he had been dismissed from the brand as a result of conflicts with management. Since then, Elbaz has kept himself busy in the design space. In 2016, Natalie Portman hired the fellow Israeli native as the costume designer for her film A Tale of Love and Darkness. He has also collaborated with major brands such as Converse, LeSportsac, Tod's, and perfume label Frédéric Malle.

His new venture has been in the works for some time, and the wait is almost over. Speaking on the new project, Elbaz said, “I am so happy and very much looking forward to an exciting launch in late January."
