The artist talks her brand-new collaboration with Geel, her design signatures, and her philosophy on fashion.&nbsp;

In today's expansive fashion world, there's an aesthetic, accessory, or -core for every style out there, but as the industry continues to get more and more complicated, a dose of thoughtful simplicity is the cure to overcoming sartorial chaos. With this in mind, Los Angeles-based label Geel and artist Analuisa Corrigan have teamed up with the season's chicest capsule collection.&nbsp;Complete with an array of functional, elegant ready-to-wear pieces—plus a few collectible design objects—the collection embodies the ultimate everyday wardrobe for the functional fashion fan. Intentional and seamless, the collaboration is designed for near-endless styling opportunities. "I love pared-back pieces you can wear over and over without them feeling tired," Corrigan tells L'OFFICIEL.&nbsp;Ahead of the collection's release, Corrigan sat down with L'OFFICIEL to unpack the creative thought process behind the collaboration with Geel.&nbsp;

L’OFFICIEL: The capsule collection is based around your own wardrobe. Do you have any particular styles, aesthetics, or silhouettes that you keep coming back to?ANALUISA CORRIGAN: My wardrobe is 90% vintage and 10% smaller brands that I’ve fallen in love with over the years. I’m short and petite, so I usually gravitate toward silhouettes that define my shape a bit. I’ve always been obsessed with early 2000s Prada because I think they do that so well. As much as I’m completely bored with minimalist fashion and, dare I say, “quiet luxury,” I do love pared-back pieces you can wear over and over without them feeling tired. More than any aesthetic, though, I’m completely ruled by fabric. If something’s itchy or doesn’t feel right against my skin…bye.L’O: For the collaboration, you took part in designing the wardrobe, and you stepped in front of the camera for the campaign. What was it like to inhabit both roles, and did seeing yourself through that lens change the way you think about your personal style?AC: Irene is such an incredible designer and has this ability to make pieces feel exciting without making them feel trendy or tied to one particular season, which is one of the many reasons why I love Geel so much. Designing with her was so much fun because we referenced vintage pieces from my own wardrobe that I’ve loved for years but always wished existed in a slightly different way, so we basically got to remake them with our own spin. Modeling the collection felt self-indulgent for about five seconds, and then I got over it and just had fun seeing everything come to life.

L’O: The collection is also grounded in thoughtful design. In your eyes, what qualities make a garment or object of design worth space in a wardrobe or living space?AC: I hate to sound corny and cliché, but it’s just about finding pieces that make you feel good.L’O: How has your style (in terms of both design and fashion) changed over the years? Does this collaboration reflect that sense of evolution?AC: I shop almost exclusively on The RealReal and Depop these days, and a handful of smaller brands I genuinely love, Geel being one of them. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become much less interested in trends and more interested in wearing whatever makes me feel the most confident. This collection is definitely a reflection of that.
