Preston's style and sustainable ethics team up with Mercedes-Benz for a new concept collection created from recycled airbag systems.

Fifty years ago, the airbag&mdash;an essential piece of a car's safety system&mdash;was patented. This year, Mercedes-Benz celebrating both the birth of the airbag patent in 1971, as well as the 40th anniversary of the company integrating the equipment into its vehicles&mdash;the first manufacturer to do so.
For the occasion, Mercedes-Benz presents a concept collection in collaboration with <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/24-black-owned-fashion-brands-to-shop-support" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Heron Preston</a> consisting of three men's womenswear looks created using <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/sustainable-fashion-brands-to-shop" target="_blank" rel="noopener">recycled</a> materials from the airbag systems coming from the Stuttgart brand's safety and crash-test centers. Bringing luxury to workwear, the collection returns the badges and ethical values of the U.S. fashion brand that amplifies its Re-Design, a Heron Preston program that brings together all its unique garments made with recycled materials.

In addition to the looks made with upcycled airbags, a series of limited-edition bags designed by Preston have also been created. The grants will be available with a social activation created specifically for the project, available via a giveaway on the GOAT global platform starting from 10 September.
