Michael Kors Collection aimed to create a sense of "cozy glamour" for Fall 2020, proposing to resolve a major dilemma between style and comfort, and the result did not disappoint. This season's inspiration? Relaxed chic with an urban sense of polish.
At the American Stock Exchange on Wednesday morning, the space was transformed into an abstract country house, and the show even featured a performance by of-the-moment country musician Orville Peck (dressed in Michael Kors Collection, of course). A cast of major models walked in the show, including Bella Hadid, Kaia Gerber, Adut Akech, and Freja Beha Erichsen.
For Fall 2020, Kors embraced getting back to basics. Inspirations such as the country, relaxation, and the Big Easy manifest into languid silhouettes, riding pants and boots, knit dresses, and tailored messenger bags.
“I think we can all relate to feeling a little too plugged in sometimes,” said Michael Kors in a press statement. “This collection explores that idea of getting away from it all, of taking some time to escape into nature and refuel. And of course, since we can’t all move to the countryside, we looked at how you can take that feeling of privacy and coziness and imbue it with the polish and luxury you need in an urban environment.”
Fall never fails to be a time when city dwellers embrace a mini escape, be it a day apple-picking upstate or a full weekend retreating to the countryside. With Michael Kors Collection Fall 2020, these self-care seekers now have a uniform for doing so, and for bringing that spirit into their bustling everyday lives, as well.
