Shapewear is the New Outerwear
Celebrities are wearing shapewear as clothes—and we're here for it.
Shapewear has been around for a long time. Many celebrities, including Kylie Jenner and Sofia Richie, wear shapewear to contour the body and accentuate the silhouette. Not only can shapewear cinch the waist and highlight the body's natural curves, but it also provides an extra boost of confidence for many people.
The last few years saw an increase in the number of shapewear brands, from Spanx by Sara Blakely to Skims by Kim Kardashian. Lizzo also recently released her shapewear brand called Yitty. These brands all strive to provide a wide variety of shapewear with a range of color, shape, and size to cater to everybody.
More and more celebrities are taking to Instagram to show off their newly purchased shapewear in various styles. But instead of wearing shapewear as undergarments, stars are styling their bodysuits into pieces they can wear outside. Khloé Kardashian wore her Skims suit with a high bun and heels, and Taylor Hill went on a hike in a bodysuit in Italy. The Skims dress even went viral on TikTok for being cute everyday wear.
