After the departure of Natacha Ramsay-Levi, the house of Chloé has found its new artistic director in Uruguayan designer Gabriela Hearst.

It&#39;s official: the Uruguayan designer <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/gabriela-hearst-creative-director-chloe-fashion-designer" target="_blank">Gabriela Hearst</a> is the new artistic director of the house of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/chloe-spring-2019" target="_blank">Chlo&eacute;</a>. She succeeds <a href="https://www.harpersbazaar.com/fashion/designers/a34860879/natacha-ramsay-levi-departs-chloe/" target="_blank">Natacha Ramsay-Levi</a>, who served in this position for three years. Riccardo Bellini, CEO of the house, is delighted with the news, saying,&nbsp;&quot;Her powerful vision of more responsible fashion truly embodies the values and sense of commitment of today&#39;s Chlo&eacute; women. Gabriela is a forward-thinking woman and her creative leadership will be a positive force in further evolving and expanding our founder&rsquo;s original vision of meaningful and powerful femininity.&quot;&nbsp;Hearst will be the first female designer from a multicultural background, both Uruguay and the United States, to lead any Parisian fashion house.

Born in Uruguay, Gabriela Hearst honored her family&#39;s legacy by founding her <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/gabriela-hearst-pre-fall-2020-ballerinas" target="_blank">eponymous label</a> in 2015&mdash;of which she will also remain at the head&mdash;after taking over her father&#39;s ranch. Aiming to create products made with the greatest care and detail, she favored a slower creation process, where tradition is more important than trend. Always wishing to produce&nbsp;modern collections without compromising her ethics or core values, she promotes what she calls &quot;luxury with conscience&quot; or &quot;honest luxury.&quot;&nbsp;Her elegant designs, which center around eco-responsibility and sustainability, have already won the hearts of several notable faces, including soon-to-be&nbsp;First Lady&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/politics-culture/jill-biden-classic-style-future-first-lady" target="_blank">Jill Biden</a>.

Since her introduction into the industry, Hearst has continued to climb&nbsp;the fashion ladder.&nbsp;She has won the 2017&nbsp;International Woolmark Prize for International Womenswear and the American Womenswear Designer&nbsp;of the Year Award at the CFDA Fashion Awards in 2020. Outside of fashion, Hearst sits on the Board of Directors of <a href="https://www.savethechildren.org/" target="_blank">Save the Children</a>,&nbsp;an NGO defending children&#39;s rights.

Hearst&#39;s first collection for Chlo&eacute;&nbsp;will be presented in March 2021.
